We returned yesterday from Disneyland and thought I'd share our trip.:)

We are New Englanders now living in Arizona, so Disneyland is quite new to us. Having lived on the East Coast for over 50 years, we are much more familiar with visiting Disney World. We are, however, quickly falling in love with Disneyland!

In June of 2012, we took a short trip mainly to see the new Cars Land. Our grandson was almost four at the time and a huge fan of Cars. It was his second trip to Disneyland, and our granddaughter's first. That trip report, "Carter Gives Cars Land Two Thumbs Up!", is on this forum. I don't know how to link it here. Then last June, we took our grandson (almost five) back to Disneyland to celebrate his starting Kindergarten in the fall of 2013. That report, "A Four-Year Old's Touring Plan. This One's Not In The Books!", is also on this forum. Our grandson's first trip to Disneyland was in November of 2010. He has also been to Disney World (February 2010) when he was seventeen months old.

This trip fell into place for two reasons. First, our son-in-law and daughter were going to the Los Angeles area to attend an event related to their jobs. He is a full-time teacher and she is a part-time teacher. Part of the school trip included a full day in Disneyland. They were taking the baby with them (our second grandson, born last summer) since he is still being breastfed. The older two grandkids were going to stay with us at our house. They were excited for a sleepover at gramma and grampa's, but we got to thinking about it, and decided why not go and take the other two to Disneyland for a few days. They were VERY excited at the change in plans!.:thumbsup2

The second reason is that our granddaughter is a huge fan of Frozen, and we knew she would love to meet Anna and Elsa. She is also in love with Ariel, Cinderella and Aurora.:)

So, our daughter, son-in-law and youngest grandson left early on the 7th, driving from Phoenix to LA. My husband and I left early on the 8th with our two older grandkids, driving from Phoenix to Anaheim. We would meet up with our daughter, son-in-law and other grandson some time on Sunday afternoon, in the Disneyland Park. Our son-in-law had to return on the bus late that night with the school kids, but our daughter and all three grandkids stayed with us for a few extra days of Disney fun.:)

Okay, got all that!:rotfl: Lengthy introduction, I know! So, here we are:

This is me.:) This was taken on a trip my husband and I took to Florida last month. I am a mother of three, a grandmother of three, and a former elementary school teacher.

This is my husband on the same trip. He was marveling at the sugary white sand. Ha! Ha! He works in the computer field.

Here are our two grandsons. Carter is five and a half, and Harrison is eight months old.

We also have a younger daughter (23) and an older son (33), but they were not with us on this trip.

Following along! Your grandbabies are adorable!! Can't wait to hear about your trip

Following along! Your grandbabies are adorable!! Can't wait to hear about your trip

Thanks! We had a wonderful time! The parks were a bit more crowded than I thought (or hoped!) they'd be, but we managed to do a lot while we were there.

I can't wait to read along. I am sure all of your grandkids had a blast!

Yes, they did! Our granddaughter wasn't keen on waiting in lines, but for a three year old, she did great.:)

Carter and Vanessa spent Thursday night and Friday night with us, so they ended up having their sleepover AND a trip to Disneyland.:thumbsup2 I dropped Carter off at school Friday morning. He was excited because his class was going on a field trip, hiking some mountain trails and visiting a nature center. I then spent the day getting everything ready for the trip. So much more to pack and think about then when just my husband and I take off on a trip! I picked Carter up from Kindergarten in the afternoon, and Friday night we took the kids out to dinner, then home for baths and an early bedtime.

SATURDAY, MARCH 8TH:
We were ready to go by 9am Saturday morning. Here they are, all set to hit the road! They each had a few toys, books and snacks in their backpacks.
DSC_0200.jpg

We stopped for lunch at Ruby's Diner in Cabazon. After lunch, the kids worked off some energy, then it was back in the car. Pretty area!

We arrived in Anaheim a little after 3pm and checked into the Residence Inn Maingate.
DSC_0214.jpg

I didn't take any pictures of the hotel, other than the one above in the lobby, because I wasn't sure if I was going to do a trip report or not. So, I apologize for the lack of hotel photos! We are Marriott Rewards members, so we usually stay at Marriott properties. We chose this particular hotel because it was within walking distance of the parks, and we wanted a suite so we could put the kids to bed at night in a separate room while the adults stayed up later.

The Residence Inn Maingate was a great choice and we were very pleased with our stay. Our room had a separate bedroom with two queen beds, a living room with a sofabed, a fireplace, and a full kitchen with a table for four. There was plenty of room in the bedroom for Harrison's pack 'n play. We were on the bottom floor of a two-story building, and we had a small patio next to a nice, grassy area. It was very quiet the entire time we were there.

The desk clerks were all very friendly and helpful. We were a little concerned about the parking situation, because I know most hotels/motels in Anaheim only allow parking for one car. Sunday and Monday nights we had two cars there, but it was fine. The desk clerk issued us a car pass for each of our cars, and even better...parking at the Residence Inn Maingate is free.:thumbsup2

They also have a free breakfast buffet every morning and free wi-fi. The rooms are not overly fancy, but we had no problems with anything in our room. We enjoyed the suite, the breakfast, and the short 10-15 minute walk to the parks.

After unpacking the car and a change of clothes, we headed off to Downtown Disney.

Saturday, March 8th- continued

We left the hotel around 4:30 and walked to Downtown Disney.

As you can see, we brought strollers for both grandkids. And our daughter, Megan, had a third one with her for Harrison.
DSC_0218.jpg

I almost didn't bring one for Carter, figuring he's old enough to walk, but I was so glad we decided to bring it. It came in very handy for the walk to and from the parks and for park hopping. Usually he ended up walking part of the way when going back and forth from the hotel to the parks, but it was nice he had the option to ride if he was tired.

We walked around Downtown Disney taking it all in. It wasn't too crowded, but by the time we left, the crowds had grown considerably. And, the World of Disney store was total chaos! We had decided on Naples Pizzeria for dinner, so we headed over to see how long the wait would be. To our surprise, there was no wait and we were quickly seated. We've eaten here on past trips and have always had a good meal, and this time was no different. Food was delicious, staff was attentive and service was quick.

The kids were happy to color...

And of course, there is the balloon man.:) Carter got a sword.
DSC_0223.jpg

And Vanessa got a mermaid, complete with a belly button.:)

After dinner, we went over to the Lego Store and let the kids build with Legos.

Our last stop for the evening was the Disney Store. We had told the kids earlier they could each pick out a toy. We figured it would be nice for them to have something new to play with back at the hotel. We started out together, but quickly split up. I took Vanessa with me to look at Princess stuff, and Larry took Carter to explore the Cars merchandise. Vanessa picked out a tea set, with a talking Mrs. Potts, and Carter chose a Cars set with two tractors that tipped up and mooed when Lightening McQueen and another car ran into them. I also picked up a couple of cups that would come in handy for drinks at the parks.

Both grandkids enjoyed playing with their toys whenever they were at the hotel, and they were even good about sharing with each other. Which isn't always the case with siblings!

After playing for a bit, and a couple of quick baths, the kids were in bed and sound asleep by nine. We wanted to be up and out Sunday morning for rope drop at DCA. We had a full day planned.:Pinkbounc

SUNDAY, MARCH 9TH:

A busy day! We were up and out by 7am. We kind of rushed through breakfast at the hotel. You can see there weren't a lot of early birds. The following morning was a different story, though!
DSC_0244.jpg

The parks opened at 8, and we wanted to be at the DCA gates by 7:30. We made it there by 7:35. Not bad! As soon as the gates opened, I headed to the rope drop with Carter and Vanessa, and Larry took our tickets and headed for the fastpass line for the Radiator Springs Racers. The line was about to the Carthay Circle restaurant, which wasn't too bad. The fastpass line actually started moving before we did. I thought we'd see Larry go past us, but we were let loose and the crowd surged forward.

We headed straight to Mater's Junkyard Jamboree. Last June, Carter and I rode Mater numerous times.:scared: He was in love with that ride! Well, he is still in love with it! This was Vanessa's first time riding it, and she loved it, too! She was only 16 months old on her last trip to Disneyland and was too young for the rides in Cars Land.

I think the two of them could have spent all day on Mater's!:hyper:
DSC_0246.jpg

DSC_0248.jpg

I rode it twice with them, then Larry joined us. He had gotten RSR fastpasses for 9:30-10:30am. We rode Mater one more time, Larry taking Carter, and me with Vanessa.

We then walked over to Paradise Pier...
DSC_0249.jpg

...and to Toy Story Mania. The line was short (I think it was around 10 or 15 minutes). We rode it twice.:) The second time, we were almost to the end when the ride stopped and we sat for close to ten minutes until it was up and running again.
DSC_0250.jpg

Then the kids rode King Triton's carousel twice.
DSC_0258.jpg

DSC_0261.jpg

DSC_0262.jpg

It was getting close to 9:30, so we headed back to Cars Land and the Radiator Springs Racers. We had four fastpasses, but Vanessa was too short to ride (which we knew she would be), so Larry took Carter on the ride while Vanessa and I watched by Flo's Cafe.
DSC_0263.jpg

DSC_0266.jpg

Then Carter and I rode the racers. I absolutely LOVE RSR! I'm not one for coasters or other fast rides, but this one is SO much fun! It is one of Carter's favorite rides, too, although he always hides his eyes during some of the dark parts, especially when Frank comes close to the car!
DSC_0268.jpg

Yup, back to Mater's Junkyard Jamboree!:rotfl:

Sunday, March 9th- continued:

After a couple more spins on Mater, we headed over to A Bug's Land. But first, we stopped for a meet and greet with Lightning McQueen.
DSC_0279.jpg

DSC_0280.jpg

And, as he left, Mater took his place.:)
DSC_0281.jpg

DSC_0282.jpg

Carter wanted to see "It's Tough To Be A Bug", so that was our first stop in Bug's Land. I wasn't too sure how Vanessa would do. The show can be a bit intense for little ones, but she did fine.:) I held her on my lap so she wouldn't feel the bee stinger and the bugs running under the bench.:)
DSC_0286.jpg

She did not, however, want anything to do with this Flik! She didn't want to go near him!
DSC_0288.jpg

Vanessa loved the Chew Chew Train and we all rode it a couple of times.
DSC_0289.jpg

We went on the Tuck and Roll bumper cars and Flik's Flyers, then walked back over to Cars Land. We were hungry for lunch, so we went over to Flo's Cafe. They were still serving breakfast, so we did things a little backwards. We took the kids over to the Cozy Cones for ice cream, then we went back to Flo's for lunch.:thumbsup2

We ate outside on the deck. The kids enjoyed their Cars kids' lunches, I had the turkey sandwich and Larry had the pot roast dinner. Everything was very good!
DSC_0292.jpg

I love the view of RSR from Flo's outside patio.

Now, while we were spending the morning in DCA, Megan, Daniel and Harrison were over in the other park. They were chaperoning the high school kids, and had arrived around 9am and were due to depart for Phoenix around 8pm. Their group had one day tickets for DL only, so they couldn't join us at DCA. We had park hoppers, so we could go over to DL. Daniel would head back to Phoenix on the bus, but Megan and Harrison were staying and would head back with us on Tuesday. Megan had a one day park hopper for Monday.

Earlier, Megan sent us a text telling us that Daniel had gotten fastpasses for Star Tours for between 1:30-2:30, and wanted us to bring Carter over to DL so he could ride it with Daniel. So, after lunch we headed over to the other park.
IMG_2334.jpg

Megan had sent this picture to me when they arrived that morning. It's Harrison enjoying his first trip to the parks.:) He's overwhelmed with excitement! Ha! Ha!
1203.jpg

They actually did quite a bit that morning. Evidently, the high school kids didn't need to stay with chaperones.:) Megan and Daniel took Harrison on Pinocchio's Daring Journey, Snow White's Scary Adventures, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, and Pirates of the Caribbean. While another parent watched Harry, they also went on the Matterhorn and Space Mountain.

We met them in front of Star Tours a little before their fastpass time. The kids were excited to see Harry, and mom and dad.:goodvibes Megan and Daniel took Carter with them, and Larry and I kept Vanessa and Harry with us.

While Megan and Daniel took Carter on Star Tours and Space Mountain, Larry and I walked over to Critter Country so we could take Vanessa and Harrison on The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. The ride was down, however, so we walked back to Main Street to sit down and have a snack.

I'm enjoying reading your trip report. What wonderful grandparents you are! :)

I loved the Disneyland trips when our daughter was a toddler/preschooler, so much magic!

LOVING your report!! We also loved Maters ride I couldn't stop laughing the whole time I was on it...my kids still talk about Chew Chew smelling like watermelon and cookies :rotfl2:

Thank you so much! Honestly, we had just as much fun as the grandkids! The preschool/toddler age is indeed a fun age to take to Disney. To our three year old granddaughter, everything is "real" at Disneyland. One of the highlights of the trip was when she met Anna from Frozen, and when she met "her" princesses.:wizard:

And of course, the big burp at the end of the train ride! That's always a big hit with our five year old grandson.:rotfl:

Sunday, March 9th- continued

As Larry and I walked back toward Main Street, both Vanessa and Harrison fell asleep in their strollers. We decided to peek in a few shops, then headed over to the Jolly Holiday Bakery. We picked out a couple of fattening :scared1: treats and sat at a table on the patio. The kids slept and we snacked.:)

These...were...so...yummy! The cupcake was mine and the cinnamon bun was my husband's. Very, very good, but also very, very filling!
DSC_0311.jpg

Megan, Daniel and Carter met up with us when they were done riding Space Mountain and Star Tours. By this time, Harry was awake, and we may or may not have given him a few tastes of frosting.;)

While Vanessa continued to nap in her stroller, Grampa and Carter went into the bakery and came out with this:

Mickey cookie!
DSC_0313.jpg

Last year, when Carter and I were at Disneyland (like I mentioned earlier, it was a Gramma and Carter summer trip) he wanted to do the Jedi Training Academy. He was picked to participate and loved it. I felt kind of bad at the time, because I knew his mom, and especially his dad (big Star Wars fan) would have loved to have seen Carter fighting Darth Vader. I took a lot of pictures and sent photos to them on my phone, but not quite the same as actually being there.

So, we all decided to head over to the next Jedi show, and hope Carter got chosen to participate again. We got there about twenty minutes before the show started and Carter got a front row spot on the blue line. And....he was picked again!:wizard: :yay:

Yay, Carter!

Megan and Daniel got such a kick out of watching Carter. His mom took a short video, which came out so cute. If I can figure out how to add it here, I'll try to do that.:)

Megan and Daniel only had a few more hours before they had to meet up with the high school kids at the front of the park, so they took Harry and went off to explore more of the park. They mentioned perhaps trying to see if they could get into the Blue Bayou Restaurant for dinner. Carter and Vanessa said good-bye to their dad as he had to return to Phoenix on the bus with his students later that night. Megan and Harry would meet up with us later back at our hotel.

Next up for us was a ride on the monorail.:)

*sigh* I just spent an hour working on my next post, getting the photos in order, typing the text, and as I hit submit reply, it all got lost somehow. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!:badpc:

Okay, let's try it again.:headache:

Now, here is a photo I took of the monorail track and the reason I took the photo.
DSC_0411.jpg

Earlier that morning as we were walking into the parks, I pointed out the monorail track to Carter and Vanessa. I told them that we would ride the monorail later in the day. Carter studied the track for a minute, then asked, "Are we going to ride it sideways?"

I looked at the track and had to laugh, because I could see where he was coming from. It did indeed look like a sideways railroad track. I explained to him that the monorail rode on top of the concrete track and the sides of the monorail attached to the sides on the track.

At some point during our trip, I took a photo of the track, just in case I did a trip report. I wanted to include it. I'm always amazed at the way little kids' minds work! Too funny!

So, here is a photo of Carter and Vanessa riding on the monorail right side up!:lmao:
eb4eb016-8f02-470f-bc0d-e6fd2c830c29.jpg

We were watching the time, because we had fastpasses for the Radiator Springs Racers from 6:45-7:45. Earlier in the day, when I rode Mater with Carter and Vanessa after Toy Story Mania, Larry went over to see if there were any RSR fastpasses left for the day. Luckily, there were, and he got four passes for that evening!:woohoo: None of us had ever ridden the racers at night with the lights on, so we were excited. And Carter was one lucky little boy to get to ride RSR four times in one day!:yay:

We figured we had enough time, so we headed over to ride Pirates of the Caribbean. The line was about 30 minutes (or 40, I can't remember exactly) so not too bad. While waiting in line, I mentioned that it would be funny if Megan and Daniel were dining at the Blue Bayou as we sailed past the restaurant. Well, guess who we saw as we slowly sailed in our boat past the restaurant!:rotfl:

I hollered over to them several times to get their attention (I apologize to all my boat passengers!) and Megan and Daniel saw us and waved. They had a nice table right at the railing near the water.

They're a bit dark, but here are a few pics that they took while they dined. They said they didn't even wait very long for a table, even having to wait for a table by the railing. They also said the food was very good. Harry slept part of the time, so they had a nice, relaxing dinner.

After Pirates, we walked back to Main Street and over to DCA. We got held up for a few minutes as the parade passed by, but we were soon on our way.

Cars Land is beautiful all lit up at night. We headed straight to the Radiator Springs Racers, and Larry took Carter on, then I took Carter with me.

Very pretty!

Not our cars. I had a hard time telling which car they were in as they zoom by so fast.
DSC_0325.jpg

DSC_0324.jpg

Now, I had to include this picture, because it was the most fun ride of the day!
DSC_0328.jpg

Carter and I got in our car and this young woman from the single rider line joined us. She quickly struck up a conversation with Carter and they talked together for almost the entire ride. It was so cute! By the end of the ride, they were best buddies! At the end of the ride, I thanked her for being such a fun seat mate. I thought it was so nice of her to take the time to engage in conversation with a little kid. Just a really nice person. Carter is still talking about his best friend from RSR.:)

By this time, we were very hungry, so we walked over to Award Wieners in Hollywoodland and the kids got power packs and we got hot dogs. It was late and we were all tired. So, two exhausted little kids and two tired grandparents left the parks and strolled back to the Residence Inn. It was a long day filled with fun!

Vanessa fell asleep in her stroller just as we got to the hotel. I got her in bed and Carter soon followed. I'm not kidding when I say sixty seconds after his head hit the pillow, he was sound asleep.:)

During this time, Megan and Harry had arrived at our hotel and Larry was helping her get her stuff from the car to our room. She set up Harry's pack 'n play and he was soon fast asleep, along with the other two.

Now what? It was close to 10pm, but DL was open till midnight, so...Megan and I decided to head back for some fun!:woohoo: Grampa was more than happy to stay with the sleeping kids and relax with the tv. So, off we went.

We had almost two hours to do whatever we wanted, and the crowds were mostly gone, so there were no long lines. We rode Buzz Lightyear twice, the Haunted Mansion, and Pirates of the Caribbean. We rode the carousel, because Megan wanted to ride Jingles (Walt's favorite horse!) and she did, twice.

We walked back to Main Street and strolled through some of the shops, then walked back to the hotel. It had been a long day and our feet were feeling it! And, we had another long day planned for tomorrow. First up...meet and greet at Frozen!!

OH it would be sooo amazing to be able to go back to the parks for a few ours with out kids!! I would LOVE that!!

OH it would be sooo amazing to be able to go back to the parks for a few ours with out kids!! I would LOVE that!!

It was late and we were tired, but that didn't stop us! The rides were fun, but we also really enjoyed just taking our time browsing in the shops.:goodvibes

MONDAY, MARCH 10TH-

The parks opened at 9 on this morning, so we didn't have to get up as early as Sunday. We ate breakfast at the hotel, then walked to the DL gates. We arrived around 8:30 and the lines to get in were already getting long.

Someone fell asleep on our walk from the hotel.:)
DSC_0336.jpg

As I mentioned earlier in this report, this was the morning we were heading straight to Fantasyland to meet Anna and Elsa from Frozen. I had heard of the insanely long lines for this meet and greet and figured our best bet was to get there as soon as the park opened. The meet and greet didn't open until ten, so we knew we'd have at least an hour wait, probably more.

This morning we wanted to focus on Vanessa since she was too young for many of the attractions that Carter had already done (RSR, Star Tours, Space Mountain and others) and one of the reasons for this particular trip was for Vanessa to meet some princesses. Vanessa and Carter are both big fans of Frozen, so they were very excited to meet Anna and Elsa. Meeting the other princesses in the Royal Hall wasn't high on Carter's list of things to do at Disneyland, but he did enjoy it.:)

Vanessa turned three in February and had a princess themed birthday party. Megan and Daniel had one of their former theatre high school students come to Vanessa's party as Snow White. They wanted to see how Vanessa would react to her, hoping she'd really enjoy it, and then in turn, they'd have an idea of how she might do at Disneyland with meet and greets.

Vanessa loved "Snow White" coming to her party, and so did the other four little girls attending. Success! Here are a couple of pics from her birthday party.

Snow White stayed for about half an hour, and interacted with the kids and read a Snow White storybook. The girl playing Snow White was very good. She never stepped out of character and had the cutest laugh.:) None of the kids questioned why Snow White had long hair!:rotfl:

Waiting for Rope Drop. Notice the time on the clock. Ready...set...
DSC_0341.jpg

As we're waiting for the rope to drop, Megan and I are looking around at everyone else and trying to determine where we think they're headed. I'm sure we're not the only ones doing this!:rotfl: We were trying to guess how many other people might be headed to Frozen, too. We quickly eliminated groups of teenagers or families with boys that looked to be over the age of 8 or so. Older couples or even younger couples without kids...probably not heading to Frozen. Our competition for front of the line was the families with little girls, especially those dressed in Anna or Elsa costumes! We looked to be in pretty good shape.:thumbsup2

As soon as we were let loose, we headed down Main Street, through the Castle and over to Frozen.
DSC_0342342.jpg

1241.jpg

There were about 15 people in line ahead of us. Not bad at all!:yay:
1201.jpg

The line was growing quickly behind us. There was a CM announcing to everyone that the meet and greet would be with Anna only. She announced that she couldn't guarantee if Elsa would be there at all that day. I heard a few groans here and there, but I didn't see anyone leave the line. I was a bit disappointed that the kids weren't going to get to meet Elsa, but they never complained or said a word about it. I know they would have liked to have met Elsa, but they were SO excited to see Anna, too.

The great thing about this meet and greet was that EVERYONE in line was being very good about letting one person in a group hold a place in line while another adult took the kids to other attractions in Fantasyland. So, I elected to stay in line while Megan took Vanessa and Carter on a few rides, and Larry stayed with Harrison (who was still napping in his stroller).

Megan took the kids on King Arthur's Carousel, twice.

Then she took Carter on Dumbo. Vanessa didn't want to go on that ride, so she stayed with grampa and Harrison.

They also went on Pinocchio's Daring Journey twice, and tried their hand at the Sword in the Stone.

I texted them when the door opened and the line started moving. The meet and greet started a little after 10, and by the time we got to the front of the line, it was ten thirty, or so.

Vanessa and Carter chatting with a CM about Olaf on the roof.:)
DSC_0352.jpg

Okay, guys, it's our turn!

The wait in line was worth every minute! Anna was wonderful! She took the time to chat with Carter and Vanessa, individually and together. I don't recall what they talked about (I was so busy snapping photo after photo) but I could see they were talking, laughing and having a grand time. I just loved the girl playing Anna. She was very into her role, very animated and full of fun. I could tell there was no doubt in Carter and Vanessa's minds...this WAS Anna from Frozen!;) When Megan added Harrison to the mix, Anna was absolutely delighted.:)

I started to get worried that we were taking up too much time, but the CM and the Photopass Photographer said not to worry, and to let the kids take their time and have fun.:)

Here are a few of the many photos I took! The Photopass Photographer got some great shots, too!

After the meet and greet with Anna, we joined Larry and Harrison at a nearby table and had a snack (Pirate Booty!) and some frozen lemonade. All refreshed, we walked over to the Royal Hall to meet some princesses. The line wasn't bad at all, about 10 or 15 minutes.

First up was Ariel. I'm not sure why we didn't get Harry in the picture, but I do remember Megan holding him and as we were leaving, Ariel said something about Harry being a cute, little guppy.:rotfl:

Vanessa with Ariel. She LOVES Ariel and always says Ariel is her favorite princess. So when Ariel asked Vanessa, "Who is your favorite princess?", we thought for sure Vanessa would say, "Ariel!" Instead she promptly said, "Aurora!" Ariel laughed and said, "Well, there is someone nearby you're going to love!"

Last up...Cinderella! Cinderella asked Vanessa how old she was, and Vanessa enthusiastically responded, "THREE! No more TWO for ME!":rotfl2:

From the Royal Hall, we headed out of Fantasyland and into Tomorrowland. Earlier we had gotten fastpasses for Star Tours and Autopia.

Here are Larry and Carter coming in to the finish line at Autopia. Carter was excited about driving a car, but Larry said at the last second, Carter changed his mind and decided he just wanted to ride.

They really enjoyed it, although Larry said there isn't a lot of leg room in those cars!

While Vanessa and I watched Larry and Carter on Autopia, Megan took Harrison to the Baby Center to feed him and change him. She said the Baby Center was a nice place to relax with Harrison, and that everyone there was very friendly. We texted lunch decisions back and forth, and decided on the Plaza Inn. We had a wonderful lunch on the outside porch. The weather was delightful and the food was delicious! I could go for another one of their chicken dinners right now! We pushed a couple of tables together to fit all of us in, and were about to take turns going for food, when Carter started crying. He was upset about something, but wouldn't tell us what. We were thinking he was hot or tired and just out of sorts. He covered one of his eyes and said that his eye hurt. It did look red, so Megan went and got some ice wrapped in a napkin and had him hold it on his eye. Within a minute or so, he was fine. He finally said he somehow scratched his eyeball. Poor little guy! He was fine after a few minutes, though.:) Other than that, lunch was very good!
