FIRST TRIP REPORT on Canadian board Now with Pics!!!!

DAY 3 JULY 21 HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS

Last Monday july 21 was Extra Magic Morning hours at Hollywood Studios so the park opened at 8am. We got there before the 8am opening but were to far back in the crowd to see anything, oh well.
The kids believe it or not really wanted to go on Rockin' Roller coaster first, so that is where we headed. Remember these kids are just 7 and 5. When we got there the stand-by time was 15 minutes I think so we just waited. Well the kids didn't like it quite as much as they had hoped, they were both in tears when it stoped. After that we wanted to go get fastpass's for Toy Story Mania. The fastpass's for TSM were already at around 12pm to 1pm I think. We grabbed 4 of them and went to explore some more. We went on the Back-lot tour, and really enjoyed it. The kids really enjoyed the Honey I Shrunk The Kids playground.
We went into the Walt Disney One Man's Dream Exhibit. This is where one of the best things of the whole trip happened. We had just got inside when a cast member came up to us and gave us all Dream Fastpass's.:cool1: :cool1: That was so neat. We could go on any ride and go straight to the fastpass return line. The kids were excited to be able to go on TSM twice.
Right after getting our Dream Fastpass we went to TSM it is really neat. The whole four of us loved it.

I will continue with HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS PART 2 later.

HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS PART 2

I ended last time with us getting the dream Fastpass's and riding TSM. Since we had already gotten fastpass's earlier in the day for TSM we were able to ride it twice in a row.
I can't remember what the name of the place was that we ate lunch at. It was a CS place right beside the Honey i shrunk the kids playground. The florida afternoon heat was starting to bear down on all of us by this point, and we were all getting tired so we decided that we would watch the Block Party bash parade at 3pm and then go back to our resort and rest before coming back later that evening for fantasmic.
So after getting back to the resort we rested in the room for a while then decided to go for a swim. Swimming really seemed to give the boys more energy and it helped cool us down. So back up to our room we went and got dressed and headed to the food court for a bite to eat before jumpimg back on the bus for hollywood studios.
Back at the park we had some time for some shoping and just wondered around for a while. I had read on these boards before leaving that you need to be at fantasmic a good 1/2 hour before show time to get a good seat, so we were there a 8:15pm for the 9pm show. WE thought we would get a good seat. We couldn't have been further from being right. We had to go to the standind room section.:sad2: We were right at the front of the standing room area which would have been okay except for what happens next. probably the rudest thing we had happen the whole time we were away. Some lady and her 2 older kids (maybe 12 or so) decided they would stand infront of my DS7 and DS5. I probably should of said something, but the show was starting and couldn't be bothered. We ended up having to carry our boys for the whole show so they could see over the people that had to in front of us. We did however manage to enjoy the show.
After fantasmic it was time to head for the exits. That was quite and adventure, it was so busy. When we finally got to our All-star movie bus stop the were already a ton of people waiting. The first ASM bus came and went with us not getting on. The bus was able to take everyone except about 10 people. Right after the bus drove off a tour bus pulled up to the space to pick up a load of brazilian tourists and take them to ASM. They loaded up there tour group and they must of had some extra space so they asked us who were waiting if we wanted a ride, so we jumped in there. WE were very thankful of them for helping us out that night.
Back at the room we were pooped. The original plan was to go to Magic kingdom the next day, but we were so tired we decided to do Epcot the next day. We figured epcot would be a much shorter day for everyone and we could get a better night sleep before hitting magic Kingdom on the third day.

Up next
DAY 4 July 22 EPCOT.

Border inspections are random, for the most part...they might pick the 6th blue car, or whatever...:confused3

Hey I live in Kincardine...the world is getting smaller!!:rotfl2: If you are a Ripley native...my husband probably knows you as he is from Ripley.

DAY 4 JULY 22 EPCOT

We got up early and were at Epcot see be able to partially be able to see the opening. After this we headed straight for soarin. The plan was to get a fastpass for this and move onto something else, but the stand-by line was just 10 minutes so we just went in the stand-by line. Soarin was amazing. It has to be the best experience at WDW. You should have seen the looks on the kids faces, truly priceless.
After Soarin we headed across the park to ride test track and Mission Space. We grabbed fastpass's for test track and went on mission space, another short line. The kids wanted to do the "more intensive training" mission on mission space so we did. That was a really neat ride as well. DS7 didn't like it much though, but he was having a bad day. (more on that to follow)
After mission space it was time to ride test track, again that was a really good ride. DS5 loved it. To this day he says it was his favorite. We then headed for Honey i shrunk the audience. We didn't notice on the map that it was "scary for young children". This was a big mistake, both kids were over tired and both started crying by the time it was over. From that point on things at Epcot were going downhill.
Our worst food experience happened next. We went to Electric Umbrella to eat. It was around 12:30 to 1pm. It was packed. We stood in line for almost 1/2 hour. We finally got our food and headed for a table. Almost all of the tables were packed and the ones that were not packed people had left there garbage on them. No cast memebers were cleaning off the tables, so we ended up having to clean of a table ourselves. SO we finally sat down to eat and found out they had messed up our order, but it was to busy to go back in line to have it fixed so we just dealt with it.
By the time we got out of there a 4 of us were cranky. The kids didn't want to ride on anything else, and were very tired. It was starting to rain as well. We talked the kids into riding Spaceship Earth and The nemo ride (can't remember its name right now).
We were all wet now, and cranky. We decided to cut our day at Epcot short. We had really wanted to see the firework show that night but we wanted everyone to catch up on some sleep and be ready for the next day at magic Kingdom. Before leaving we did take the kids on a ride around the Monorail loop to Magic Kingdom and back, the kids did enjoy that.
It was about 4pm when we got back to our hotel. We relaxed for a while before getting a bite to eat. After that we went swimming. We all ended up going to sleep by 9pm, we were that exhausted.
The early night to bed was maybe the best thing we did the whole trip as everyone was in much better spirits the next day.
We learned this day that next trip we have to have time for breaks. i read that exact thing on here many times but figured "we will be fine" Now i know how important breaks are.

Next DAY 5 JULY 23 MAGIC KINGDOM

I'm getting lots of great tips here...thanks! Way to go on getting the dream fast passes...I'll be praying to my Mickey statue for one of those! :worship:
I really want to go on Rockn'Roller Coaster, but didn't think it would be good for my chicken 9 y/o, and I think you confirmed that for me! :)
Are you going to post any pictures??

Happened to me on a day trip to Buffalo, i guess i had been going down monthly, so maybe that had raised suspicion :confused3

I agree with you on getting sleep. I thought we could just go and go but they really do need some down time and then your whole experience is better.

These are my boys. First the 5 year old and then the 7 year old. This is before 2am in the morning. They had just came out to the car and found new Nintendo DS's on there seat. They were worth every penny, it kept them quiet the whole trip.

This last one is very scary. This is in Detroit on the i94 during rush hour on a friday night. She was weaving all over the road. Sge had no turn signals, she was using her arm out the window. You can see the hole on top of the car, it went right to the inside. Her real view mirrors hanging on both sides of the car. Needless to say we wanted to get away from this car.

Nice pics!
Thank God for the handheld games for kids in the cars/flights, it really stops the "are we there yet" game they like to play.
Your trip report is great, and it's nice to hear you had a great time. When are planning on going back?

Great pictures. Nice car....not. Makes you wonder why no one pulled her over. Glad you got past that. Can't wait to hear more. Love the family pic.:thumbsup2

Great First Trip! Brings back memories.....this year will be trip 11 and our dd will be 15....enjoy...they don't stay small forever. Looks like you had a wonderful time, hopefully not the last.....every trip you talk to WDW will have memories like this that go along with it. The car picture is awesome and the best part is that the liscence plate is clearly visible....my husband will love it....he's a copper!:thumbsup2

DAY 5 JULY 23 MAGIC KINGDOM

After a good nights sleep the night before we all felt good and ready to tackle Magic Kingdom. We got the just after opening and headed straight for Splash Mountian. The thing we noticed first at this park was that it was less crowded then we had seen at Epcot and Hollywood Studios.
The stand-by line for splash mountian was 10 minutes so we did that and the Big Thunder Monuntian also had a short line so we rode that also. Then we went to the jungle cruise. That is where DS5 got to steer the boat as seen in th pic on the last page.
We found it to be really hot this day and I ended up breaking down and buying one of them misting fans. Yes I paid $17.00 for this, but it was worth it, and it makes a nice thing to take home.
Another highlight of our trip happened at the Monsters Inc. Laugh floor. You guys know how they joke around with people in the audience to fill the canister with laugh. Well near the end the canister was nearly full and suddenly my DS5 was on the big screen. He was wearing his Mickey ears so the said "look that kid has four ears" Then they asked "where did you get them"
my boy says "at my hotel"
"you stole them from some guy at a hotel" the guy in the show said,
"no my dad bought them" said DS5
So it went on like that they asked his name and stuff. After this the laugh canister was full. DS5 was so proud to have done this. Maybe the best part of all is when we were leaving this attraction some other little boy came up and looks at him then back at his mom and says "look mom; its Josh"
We really enjoyed the day at magic Kingdom we were able to see everything we wanted to see, we got to meet Mickey, and Minnie, another highlight. Around dinner time that night though it started to rain. I rained for about 3 hours. Not hard, but enough to get you pretty wet. We were starting to get concerned as to whether or not they would go ahead and have the fireworks that night. We asked a cast member and were told they very rarely will cancel the fireworks. It didn't matter anyways as it stopped raining soon after 8pm.
We were able to ride a few more things and then get a good spot for the Spectromagic parade. We all enjoyed this. As time for the fireworks neared DS5 was getting pretty tired and started falling asleep where we were sitting but we managed to keep him up for the fireworks.
It was truly magical to of had the chance to spend a full day there. The problem was walking back to the buses that night we realized that the next day we would have to be heading home, after 1/2 a day at Animal Kingdom.

next DAY 6 ANIMAL KINGDOM/ STARTING TO HEAD HOME

thanks for reading.

We stood in a downpour at a P&PP in Feb to watch the fireworks! It was worth it IMHO.
