We are not new to WDW but we are new to DVC and this is our first trip home to SSR is in less than 3 weeks. I would love any tips, advice or suggestions. Maybe things you all wished you had done but didn't on your first trip home. We are staying at SSR for 5 nights and 3 nights at BWV. We return to SSR over Thanksgiving week in Nov. too. I would love any feedback. Thanks so much. Oh we are staying in a 2 bedroom villa at each resort.

Yeah....
Pack light you now have taht nice Washer/Dryer in your room we typically pack 3 day worth of clothes.
Eat breakfast in your room and bring small snacks (water a must unless you want to pay the ridiculous WDW water prices) to the park.
Enjoy and don't pack too much into one day.... remember it is vacation after all! :cool1:

Here are a few things that might be helpful-

1) Enjoy the 2 bdrm! You will be spoiled after staying in one :)

2) Try to attend the Summer on the Savanna party/event-last year my kids loved the Summer Block Party. It's a chance for free games and goodies and to meet other DVCers

3)Slooow down and realize that this is the first of many DVC vacations and not the same as wondering when the next trip will be

4)If your kids like pin trading, order pins on ebay ahead of time to save $

5)Start a family tradition-we take pictures each year by a DVC icon (the horse and jockey at SSR, mermaid at BCV, etc...)

6) Schedule some resort time and check the community hall schedules for things for the kids to do. You can also rent (free) DVDs and board games

Have a great first DVC trip! :wizard:

*If you think you'll want to go to DTD much, ask to be placed in the Congress Park section. I also think it has the prettiest views. The walk to DTD is very short on a pretty path.

*We also realized that you can now walk in a giant circle around SSR and through DTD Marketplace and Westside, over a bridge and through the golf course. It was a great morning exercise walk.

*Buy a case of bottled water and keep some in the freezer. When you take them to the parks, you'll have cool water as it melts.

*Use the jacuzzi tub!!
