first trip do-over

Are you doing any countdown celebrations? I Am hoping for some ideas!

well.....we do some things when I think about it, but I don't really plan too much--i'm more spur of the moment on that.

*sometimes we'll watch a Disney movie on the weekends and talk about seeing that character or riding that ride.
*we have Netflix and watch the Disney documentaries on there (walt Disney world:behind the scenes, cruise line (we're doing a cruise in 2015), undiscovered Disney parks, animal kingdom, etc).
*one day we watched a jake and the pirates dvd and I made a pirate lunch--olives (cannonballs), fruit to prevent scurvy, pirate booty (the puffed rice and pop corn--so good!), and I used my mickey cookie cutter to cut their sandwiches into mickey shapes. sometimes I make mickey pancakes for breakfast and that always leads to talking about what we'll do on our trip.
*I was planning on watching 101 Dalmations on our 101 day out.
*I also kept some videos from our last trip on my phone and we'll just watch them whenever. they love to see themselves on the teacups and get excited to think about riding it again.

have you read Jackiemarie21's PTR? she did a movie night and dinner once a month or so before their trip. she had some great ideas and did some really cute and simple things.

sorry I wasn't much help on that one, but if I hear of any fun ideas, i'll let you know!

Love the Jake the Pirate ideas! And the pancakes!

I haven't done anything yet, but would like to make plans!

We just discovered the Netflix documentaries. DS has even asked to watch them a time or two. They are a nice Disney Fix, excitement builder after a rough day!

Now to go find Jackiemarie21's PTR!

We have done the Disney movie nights with a themed dinner. Most have turned out well. There was the one where we got The Odd Life of Timothy Green from Netflix because it was in the cue - not exactly a classic, but I thought hey why not - so we had a lot of green foods. Sadly the Key Lime pie I made was more like Key Lime soup...oops. :confused3

 that seems like something that would happen to me! i'm thinking maybe I might try to plan a movie night or two. I know the girls would love it

getting very excited!.....I am so excited! we tore off a paper chain last night and the girls and I did a little happy dance because we are at 100 DAYS UNTIL OUR TRIP!! tomorrow we're in double digits....FINALLY!!! :sulley::mickeyjum:stitch::donald::goofy::dumbo: I checked out cars 2 and 101 dalmations from the library and I think we'll stay up late tonight and have a movie marathon (well, 2 movies probably isn't really a marathon, but it's pretty late for us! ::yes::)

:yay:Yay! 100 days! :yay:
That is so exciting! With the holidays coming up that time will go by really fast! You will be back "home" I am so excited for you guys!:yay:

Awesome news!!!!!

I can't wait to get to our 100 day, so going to be doing the :dance3: We are at the 112 day mark. Getting closer at least.

awwww.....thanks for sharing my excitement!! It seems like it's taken forever to get here!

I understand completely. I have felt the same way this whole year. Not sure what I will find to obsess on after this is over.

your next Disney vacation of course! :lmao: everybody says the best thing for the Disney blues (which is a real thing, I found out for myself after our last trip) is to start planning your next visit! let's see.....so far, I have plans for this trip is January, a Disney cruise in 2015, Disneyland in 2016, and another trip to the world in 2017 with my best friend since kindergarten and her family. crazy, isn't it? :rotfl:

I know what you mean. After Disney and a subsequent miny trip to Pittsburgh DH decided he really liked to travel (I already knew I like to travel) and since we are planners and long term thinkers we sat down and talked about everywhere we would want to go in our lifetime, and then made a spreadsheet of course! We have family vacations planned into our 60s (complete projected budgets) Then my husband bought me a bunch of binders so I could get to planning. So between Disney trips I have something else to plan :)

another ADR?!?.....has anybody else ever slept wrong and woken up with such a sore neck that you can barely turn your head? I don't know what crazy way I was sleeping, but my neck and shoulder are killing me this morning! so, while i'm sitting here with the heating pad and my youngest is snuggled with me, watching Cinderella, I thought i'd get on and tell you all about ANOTHER ADR I made last night.

our DD, Madison, is in love with Cinderella. she has a Cinderella costume that someone gave us when her daughter outgrew it. Madison has worn it faithfully since she got it, even though it's too big. I've had to stitch little tears, and make it fit, and handwash it too many times to count. it's actually beginning to look more like Cinderella's rags then her beautiful ball gown! :rotfl2: anyway, she has started calling herself Anastasia when she wears it, and making her sister be Drizella......A LOT. she is fascinated with the evil stepsisters right now. in fact, we were at the library the other day and she put back a Cinderella book because the stepsisters weren't in it, in favor of a book WITH the stepsisters. sooooooo........I was thinking, "how much would she LOVE to have dinner with them at 1900 Park Fare?" I keep reading on other TRs about the great interactions there with the stepsisters and how funny they are. I decided to check for an availability during our trip, and wouldn't you know, one popped right up! now we're having dinner with the evil stepsisters too! we've never eaten there, or even been in the GF, so it should be a great adventure!

i'm excited for all our meals, but i'm starting to think I have gone ADR crazy! here's what our week of meals looks like right now. tell me what you think....

Sunday, DTD day--dinner at T-REX (pay OOP)

Monday, AK day--breakfast at CHEF MICKEY'S (TS credits), lunch will be QS wherever, dinner at 1900 PARK FARE (TS credits)

Tuesday, MK day--breakfast at CRYSTAL PALACE (TS credits), lunch will be QS, also want to do the fireworks and dessert party this night (pay OOP)

Wednesday, Epcot day--breakfast at 'OHANA (TS credits), lunch at CHEFS DE FRANCE (TS credits), dinner QS TANGIERINE CAFE

Thursday, MK day--breakfast beignets at POFQ-QS credits, lunch will be QS, dinner at BE OUR GUEST (TS credits)

Friday, HS day--breakfast STARRING ROLLS QS credits, lunch at pizza planet QS credits, dinner at 50'S PRIMETIME (TS credits)

is that too many ADRs? it seems fine, but I don't want to be running to ADRs all day and missing other things for meals. we sort of did that last time and my DH didn't like it. gotta keep the hubs happy! ;) I tried to keep most of them at the beginning or end of the day so we don't have to stop in the middle of the fun to go to an ADR. i'm also going to have to pay for one of those TS meals OOP. will have to do some research on what is the cheapest place so I am smart about using our credits. I think it might be 50s.

anyway, any thoughts on those plans? thanks in advance for any advice!

with budgets? i'm impressed!! and very smart of you!

Yay for 100 days and now the double digit dance!!!:dance3:

Ah sleeping wrong and bothering your neck is literally the WORST. Hope it feels better!

I think you guys will LOVE dinner at 1900 PF. We did it for the first time when we were just there and it was great. The stepsisters are hilarious and we enjoyed the food too!

I don't think the ADRs look too overwhelming except maybe having both Chef Mickey's and 1900 Park Fare on your AK day. That's a lot of travel from resort-restaurant-park in one day which may make your day feel more chaotic! It can definitely work, I would just make sure you and your husband are both on board for the traveling that day so no one gets grumpy!

Left today already planning a do over poored rain first MK day all day. Hollywood fireworks canceled . To be honest I didn't really like Epcot I liked the rides part except space mountain was closed! But I'm not there to shop all day I thought they would have more history in each country . Friday was our pick a day kids wanted to finish the world at Epcot befor mnsshp that night. Food and wine was boring the only thing interesting was the cranberry setup. We went to mnsshp it rained at parade time 1/2 off buy the time we got to see that we had to head to fire works break threw the insane crowd we road 2 rides met 2 princesses for 250$ I guess it's great if you know what your doing but for a first time I don't suggest it! We did way to much in such a short time next trip we are flying from nj NOT driving and 8 days 6 park 2 rest days! We did 6 full all 4 parks open till close .

I didn't even think about the traveling aspect of it. good thought....i'm gonna have to think about that. I think DH will be fine with going to 1900 because he's always wanted to see GF. maybe if it's just one day of crazy travel, we'll be ok? I hate to cancel an ADR now that I've made them, but it wouldn't be the end of the world if we did. thanks for the advice!
