first trip do-over

thanks! I just hope they are warm enough this time, but not too hot either. It's harder to pack for January, that's for sure! :scared:

I know-I always try to cram too many things into MK days. There are too many things to do!! Our plan is usually pretty flexible so if we get to something with a huge line or the kids want to do something again, we don't have a problem with skipping other things. And most of the character meets are "if we can" too, expect for a couple--tinkerbell and Peter Pan. Last year we never saw the wait for tink at less then 50 minutes-usually more like 75 or higher-and I just couldn't bring myself to waste an hour of park time standing in line. However, the girls were bummed after the trip that we didn't go. Also,we have pictures of our oldest meeting Peter Pan after the pirate party, but our youngest had fallen asleep. She says every time we look at pictures that she wants to see Peter so I've promised her we'd find him this time. I should know by now not to promise things..... :rolleyes2

Well if Tink and Peter are your top priorities, and you are doing them first thing on your first MK day then you should be all good! Getting to Tink first and Peter second sounds like a great plan, especially with the Tinkerbell waits as long as they are. We only did a few character meets on this trip, but I definitely noticed that they were long waits, and that FP at meets that had it really caused a back up in standby. So if you do any meets that have FP, definitely use it! It gets you in so much faster!

i'm glad to know that! We have a fast pass for meeting rapunzel and one other princess (it says "and a friend"--not sure what that really means) and one for meeting Mickey. I was wondering if I was wasting a fast pass on meets, but I'm thinking it was a good idea now.

Definitely keep it for those two! We did not have a FP for Mickey and I regretted it. The line said 15 minutes, but it was easily double that, and we could see them letting FP group after FP group in before us. It was awful. If I hadn't wanted to meet Talking Mickey so badly, we would have left. And I can admit after the fact that the wait was worth it because Talking Mickey was AWESOME.

We learned from our Mickey Mistake and used a FP for meeting Rapunzel. It still took us a good 15 minutes to get in to the meet area, so I can't imagine what it was like for standby people. The downside is that the FP line for Fairytale Hall appears to be very boring compared to the standby line, but I'd rather be bored for 15 minutes than somewhat interested in a queue for 60 minutes! They use the term "and a friend" just so they can have flexibility on the second princess in Rapunzel's room. When we went it was Snow White; I've heard Aurora is common in there as well, and I read one report on the DIS of it being Jasmine! I would have loved to meet Jasmine.

wait--what? TALKING MICKEY?!? I don't know anything about talking Mickey!

Haha WHAT! You need to get out of Trip Reports and onto the Theme Parks boards more it seems! Mickey at Town Square Theater in MK now talks. Do a search for "talking Mickey" and lots of threads will come up with info for you. It does appear that he has a few recorded conversations he can go with (he doesn't say things on the fly). For us it was about Haunted Mansion and hitchhiking ghosts, and I've heard of other DISers having the same interaction as we did. I could tell it was a recorded thing because there were some awkward pauses and he didn't so much respond to us as he led the conversation, so it elicits responses that naturally lead to his next "segment." But even though I knew this going in and I could tell in the meet, it was still so so fun and awesome to experience! The only thing some parents are unhappy about is now they have to explain why Mickey talks in MK but nowhere else, if they do multiple Mickey meets. But other users have suggested saying that all the magic at MK allows him to speak there. You should definitely do it!!

quilt.....so this has nothing to do with Disney, but forever ago I talked on here about making a quilt for an auction gift for our DD's school. I finally got it finished and, being very excited about actually finishing a quilt!, thought i'd post some pictures. i'm pretty happy with it and actually wish I could keep it! :rotfl: hopefully, someone will pay money for it at the auction!

Holy cow! Not sure how I missed all those updates! WOW so much exciting stuff!

First off, LOVE LOVE LOVE all the outfits! The Mermaid petti skirt is my fav though! Everything looks great! Your park days look like lots of fun! I can not wait to hear what you think of talking Mickey (we did not see him ) and I am of course anxiously awaiting your FP+ review!

I always love seeing Disney in my inbox! Even when it just the movie club telling me I need to respond to my feature title! :rotfl:

Paid if full is a great feeling!:cool1:

The quilt turned out great! I would want to keep it after all that work too!

Sorry, I got so behind! Its been a crazy week.

34 DAYS!!!.....just have a minute, but I just had to get on really quick. Last night I reserved our stroller and did online check in! We are getting so close!

So exciting! Just about a month away!

(Ptttth. Still 80 days for us, lol!)

Woah! Beautiful quilt!!

thanks! I'm about to start another one for a teacher appreciation gift. We'll see how it goes.....

i know!!! I'm so excited I can hardly stand it! Usually at this time of year, I'm all giddy about Christmas and have my presents wrapped and am baking cookies. Now all I can do is think about Disney!

80 days isn't too bad. You should get to personalize magic bands and make fast pass selections soon, right?

I didn't realize it was so close. Hooray!! Yippy!! :whoowhoo:

every time I look at our paperchain countdown and remember how long it used to be compared to how short it is now, i wonder.....is it too soon to pack? :rotfl:

***********************************

Fingers crossed we'll get some Mickey mail soon!!! Our last day to personalize our magic bands is Thursday, so hopefully we'll get those next week or so. I am so excited! I don't know how I'll stand it when we get into single digits!

IT CAME.....I came home today between dropping everybody at school, running errands and going back out to pick everyone up and decided to just check the mail while I was here. boy, am I glad I did! we got our mickey mail today!!

maddie yelling "mickey mail!"

aren't those luggage tags the cutest?!?!?!

You are getting so close! I am getting excited for a TR!

Yay for Mickey Mail! Do you have all your sewing done?

guess what came!.....the very grumpy UPS driver made a stop at our house this morning....delivering MAGIC BANDS!!!:woohoo::yay::woohoo:

Madison had to try them all on....

everybody probably knew this, but it was new to me....to make them fit kids, you can peel away the gray part around the color portion of the band. I thought that was pretty neat! we are 26 days away! (ok, its really 27, but it's almost bedtime and that's when we tear off the paperchain, so i'm saying it's 26 now :thumbsup2)

i've sewn everything I'm going to do unless I get bored when I'm off work for Christmas. I got busy with holiday stuff at our DDs school (I'm a room parent) and our own holiday stuff, so it was one less thing to stress about to decide to just be done. I need to find cute shirts for our last day and we're good. And it gives me an excuse to go to the Disney outlet again! :rotfl:

Squeeeee so exciting!

right?!? There aren't enough of these :cheer2::upsidedow:goodvibes:banana::hyper::teeth::bounce::jumping1::cloud9::stitch::goofy: :donald: to convey my excitement!
