First-Timers Thoughts On Universal

Thanks for the first timer's review. We are going for the first time at some point within a year (DD is dying to go to HP) and I have just suddenly wanted to read everything I can about Universal. It's kind of fun to get to plan a trip to a totally different theme park. :)
That's a great attitude to have and I wish more people had it! Everyone is always wanting to compare Universal and Disney w/o even acknowledging they are different parks. If you have any questions, the Proud Redheads will be more than happy to assist! :teeth:

Well, thank you, I'll remember that. :goodvibes Yes, we are stepping outside our Disney comfort zone to try something new and different. We'll be staying onsite at Universal to get the full experience and this is going to be so much fun to plan.

Staying onsite is a fantastic idea.....................which hotel are you thinking of??

They are all lovely so you should be happy whichever one you pick.

You`ll have a wonderful time I`m sure, we love Universal/IOA/Citywalk, the atmosphere is wonderful and you can be as relaxed or as busy as you like.

Happy planning :thumbsup2

Thanks! I am actually torn on the resorts. I haven't done enough research on each one, but picking a resort is a special form of sweet agony that I just love. I'm a resortaholic. ;) Some people love choosing restaurants. I LOVE choosing resorts. I will comb the trip reports to feed my fix and eventually decide on one.

My top two are HRH and Portofino. I know my grandson would love to stay at HRH. For myself, I would most likely choose Portofino. It looks really pretty. I think DD21 might like the Royal Pacific, simply because it's the closest to HP. I'm wondering if you can see Hogwarts castle from Royal Pacific. Not ever having gone to Universal, I have no idea. :)
