First Timer With Crowd Questions

We're visiting WDW for the first time, arriving May 7, 2004.

I'm wondering what we can expect in terms of crowds at that time of year.

The guidebooks I've been reading say that early May is great as far as crowds go!


You should be in great shape.

Kids are still in school.

I'd check for any special events that might be going on that would effect the crowds on a particular day.

We have been several times in May...crowds are not that bad however you should be prepared for some very sunny and warm days! We try to quit around lunch time and head back for some pool time and then return for an evening show.Drink plenty of water and pack some snacks for the kiddies!

we are also going May 7, crowds should not be too bad but still be sure to take advantage of fast pass and early entry days if you are on property, another trick is to quickly make your way to the back of the park and work your way forward. Have you made your PS's [ priority seatings] yet?

May is "moderate attendance" except for Memorial day weekend, which is high attendance.

A recent inquiry of Disney regarding which days to visit which parks had the following response:

"During regular attendance periods, our parks tend to be the busiest on the following days:

Magic Kingdom: Monday, Thursday, and Saturday

Epcot: Tuesday and Friday

Disney-MGM Studios: Sunday and Wednesday

Disney's Animal Kingdom: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday"

Get to the parks when they first open and go to the most popular rides first. Our experience is that the crowds start arriving about 1 1/2 hours after the parks open. I think this applies to most times of the year.
