i have been to MK and MGM but i haven't been to AK or Epcot.

AK - i think that i can try and sort out what i want to do but Epcot! Help!!!!

I know that this is huge so i was thinking of doing Future World one day and Worldcase the next.

What rides should do and what countries should i visit? I will be on my own.

Thanks - also do i get there for opening on BOTH the days i go?

thanks,

xjx

You need to get a guide book or go online to decide what rides to go on. Soarin' and Test Track are very popular, but there is so much more in FW. Get there for opening early, since the lines for some places build quickly.
World Showcase opens later in the day, so you can sleep in a little (unless you have something else planned). It's relaxing, wandering around, maybe eating around the world. Explore corners, and sit back and relax sometimes. The countries are up to you. We're going to start and one end and spend the whole day going to the other end, stopping at whatever catches our fancy. I've scheduled 1 1/2 days there, plus 4 TS meals. The last time we went it was our favorite (of course, that was way back when), I think it will probably be this time around too.

And don't forget that WS opens a few hours later than FutureWorld. Usually around 11. We hit the stuff we want to do in FW, and then head over to WS. My favorites in FW are Spaceship Earth,Soarin', M:S, TT...other fun things..Jouney into your Imagination (with Figment), Universe of Energy, Honey I Shrank the Audience. THere is a lot to see and do in FW...so take your time. I also usually head to the left when I do World Showcase. It seems that most people go to the right and get to Canada first. I hit Mexico first. It seems to be a bit less crowded that way. I also like to go back to FW later on and do anything I may have missed earlier. A lot of the rides are still up and running, even after FW officially shuts down.
Also...don't try to do every single movie/show in every country in one day. Way too much. Pick and choose the ones you really want to see. My favorites are Canada, France and China.

I definitely agree that trying to do Epcot all in the same day is crazy. Way too much to do and see. Our favorite ride, by far, was Test Track. Of course, in 2004, there was no Soarin', so maybe that will be our new #1 when we return this May.

We will definitely spend 2 days at Epcot on this visit. Plus, our DD is 9 and Epcot was her favorite (even during our last visit when she was 7).

AK is fun, but we pretty much had done all we wanted to do at this park in a single day. Again, EE wasn't open in 2004 and Dinosaur was closed, so both will definitely be in our plans this year.

Good luck with your planning.

I have always managed both in one full exhausting but fun filled day. Starting at opening, and never quite making it to Illuminations... Next time, Im there

You'll want to spend most of your time at Future World. There is plenty to do that can all be taken in on one day. Test Track, Mission Space and Soarin' should be top priorities. Chances are, all of these things will have outragious waits, so it may be smart to go by, pick up a fast pass for one of the rides, and then do one of the slower attractions, such as Spaceship Earth, Journey Into Imagination, Universe of Energy, etc. But take your time and explore, FW is a wonderful place.

Remember, Future World closes at 7, while WS stays open until 9. There really isnt a whole lot to do in WS by way of attractions, its mostly resturants and shops (though the finiest eating and shopping in all of Disney World). However, being from London, you may have very well visited many of the actual countries featured in the World Showcase. Still, its neat to browse around. All in all though, I think the World Showcase is something that can easily be done in half a day or less. Just take your time and see how things go.

Also, cant suggest this enough, buy a guidebook! Birnbaums guide is the best. It will be your bible while you are there, trust me. And, by all means, what ever you do, do not miss the fireworks at Epcot. Illuminations. It happens every night at 9:00 and is likely the best show you'll see there.

Take care and have a great time.

At the world showcase, here is what I love:

China--see the acrobats, those kids are amazing!

America--I love listening to the Voices of Liberty and I love the audio-animatronics show they have there.

United Kingdom--fun street show with the World Showcase Players.

If you don't want to pay the full cost of a guidebook, check out the Unofficial Guide's website at www.touringplans.com . You can subscribe for $6.95 and get access to several one and two day epcot touring plans that aren't in the guidebook.

you need 2 days or maybe 1.5 days. You need a guidebook to help you with what you would like. I like Test Track, Living Seas, Spacehip Earth, Maelstrom, Universe of Energy, Canadian movie, American Adventure... And thats not even counting strolling around the countries in Epcot.

Whether or not you're going to see Illuminations, the atmosphere in the World Showcase at night is amazing and shouldn't be missed. I like splitting WS into to two trips because it's a lot to take in at one time.

Yes do FW one day and WS another, and do everything!!! Don't miss Sorin'!

thank you for all your kind words and advice.

you guys are great.
