Last May I was here picking your brains about Mummy which I was thrilled to ride in previews! Now I have some serious HHN info gathering to do! Hope you dont mind!

I have one of two nights to attend, Thurs Oct 21 or Friday Oct 22nd. My Hubby and I have a sitter for either night and can ding dong ditch our kids and head over to US/IOA

I am leaning towards the Friday night, since I have read in the past they stay open until 2 am (thurday it's Midnight)

BUT

I have also read that there will be some sort of express pass that you can buy gving you FOTL access once per ride, and that pass is only avalible on Thursday nights..... Confirm? Deny?

Purchasing Express pass in very important to us, and we are not able to stay onsite this trip :( We are AP holders. Saw the discount for regular passes on that.... do you have to be a PAP... We have the Two years for 1 AP's. They count right?? I hope I hope!

Haunted houses.... Where are they... what are they... Lame, Cool... Any other just for the HHN things like this???

I read that this year the HHN have spread to both parks. Is the ticket good for park hopping? If not, which would be the park to go to.... Hard to answer I know, since this is IOA's first year. Just figured some of you would have a better insight than me.

Do people where costumes? People meaning visitors....

Thanks bunches!

can't answer all your questions, but especially wanted to say "hi" Laurabearz!!

I believe guests are not allowed to wear costumes, for security reasons.

If you have the 2-for the price of 1 year, that's stilla PAP...no black out dates, and everything, right? You should get all the same benefits.

I heard HHN is REALLY good...scary, and everything. Why do you think I stay far, far away? :p :p ;)

Not sure if it was the PAP... I know it was $169. Does anyone remember the details at the price point? We just moved and I havent gotten to the Ticket box yet.

Thanks bunches!:bounce:

I've been great! You'd be surprised to hear I don't carry that seat cushion anymore...although it's summer again and I am reminded of why I brought it in the first place! (Ironically, when I brought the seat cushion, it was on the list of items forbidden in the park (on the paper you get when you park). Ever since I stopped bringing it, it's not on the list anymore...hmmm......)

Anyway, the $169 is the price for a PAP, so I'm sure that's what you got. :)

You can't wear a costume. With AP's you want to be in the park (around JP) when they close. When they re-open for HHN you will be among the first in the houses. You don't need express passes for the first hour but they are nice after that. They were different prices for different nights. At first the houses are good but as the pedestrian volume increases the scares become predictable. Last year at least one house was in US and you walked from IOA. I went on a day when they were open till 2 but left about 10:30 because the drunks started coming out and I was with my son.

Agree with Motherfletcher. You won't stay until 2am.
Go on Thursday night. Buy your HHN tickets in advance. There is usually a number to call and do it for AP members. Last year, the web site didn't work, so you'll have to call. You will get a slight discount.

Yes, HHN is at both parks, but your ticket will get you into both. There will be walkways between the parks.

During the day, crowds will be light, and you can go on all the rides with short waits. At about 4pm, head to the Stay and Scream area, last year it was located at the Enchanted Oak across from Deuling Dragons. Guards will check your HHN ticket and let you stay. After about an hour, they'll let you go, and you can do a few houses real fast before the GP (general public) is let in from the main gate. If you do this, you'll get all the houses done in a couple hours, then go see the Bill and Ted show.

At about 10pm, the place will be packed, and even if you have the express book for HHN, the line will move slowly thru the houses and you'll see the scareators in advance. By this time, you'll be bored and leave.

ok, we went last year and it was GREAT!! people did wear costumes. ( they say you cant, but they wont kick you out if you do ) also, they say no cameras, but saw lots of those too. your AP is prob the Perfered annual pass . your AP price for the HHN is $32.75 per person per night + $3.00 S&H. you need to call universal and talk to a reservations person. they will ask you for the number off of your voucher ( assuming you have the voucher and not the pass because thats all i have ) its the long number under the bar code. they said that i wouldnt get my tickets until about 2 or 3 weeks before my HHN dates but i recieved them about a week later.

we bought the express passes last year and they are worth their weight in gold!! i asked about these when i was ordering the HHN passes and she said they werent out yet.. maybe aug or sept. But there should be AP discounts. they arent only going to be offered on thurs night. they are just a little more expensive on the weekends.

this isnt the first year for IOA , its the first year that both parks are going to be open. the houses are VERY cool. just dont do much research on them because it will spoil your fun ( trust me, i did that last year!

p.s. the drunks arent going to bother you. just dont try and take our drinks
:p

Costumes?!! People were wearing costumes?!!! They must have carried them in with them because they'd need to get through security....

Anyway, no masks, no halloween makeup, nothing that makes it so you can't tell the guest from the employees.

::::: perking up ::::: There is booze for sale during this event??? Cool.

Guests are not allowed to wear costumes & I have never seen any guests wearing costumes, nor do I reccomend that you attempt to wear a costume (unless your idea of fun is getting denied entrance to the event!!)
There is a security screening at the gate, with metal detectors & everything - security is pretty tight.

You can get the express passes for any night, last year we had them on a Saturday night - they worked great! ::yes::

It looks as tho you will enter in IOA & then go a back way to Studios, so you dont' have to choose !!

Houses are lots of good creepy fun - lots of scares - you will have so much fun!!!:scared1:

& yes, there is booze!!!!! :drinking1

hey guys, please dont flame!!

i did see lots of people wearing costumes. i know they werent with the cast of HHN because the costumes were not the quality of HHN. I personally WOULD NOT do this because with my luck i would be banned for life from the event!!

they also say no cameras, and yep.... saw plenty of those.

we went on Halloween night last year, wonder if that was the difference??

Oh - no! I didn't mean for it to sound like I was flaming - please don't think I was. I just know the policy is no costumes.

Maybe that was the difference - they might make an exception on the 31st. I've never been on Halloween, so I personally have never seen visitors in costume.
Again, I didn't meant to sound harsh - my apologies.

Now I was under the impression that it was no cameras in the houses, not no cameras at the event. If it's no cameras at the event, I'm guilty. ( but I do have some great pics!!)
