And don't be surprised when they ask you to put your fingers into a machine and take your photo at immigration. thats for all members of the party exept the very young and very old

and dont forget to go to the exit machines to say that you are leving the usa as they can refuse you entry the next time if you dont, you have to put pasport in reader left and right index finger takes a photo then it compares with the ones that you gave on entry if all corect gives you a reciept and you are free to leave the country think this is going to repace the green form all together soon

Oh right, thanks - I didn't know about that!

Are they easy to use? Do you use them before you check in and go through the x-ray machine etc?

the exit-usa machines are on the airside of security they look like atm`s

Doing it as soon as possible, preferably before you go or get on to the plane it is much easier. Starting with a filled in example does make it much easier.

That is all well and good, but unfortunately, I have never been on a flight over there that gave me the forms at check in. I have always been given them on the flight whilst watching the video. I jotted down notes this time and still managed to put the dob in the wrong place, and then someone knocked me so I had to start again twice. Hate the things.

How long have the exit machines been in airports?

It would be worth asking at check in next time. Also, when you go through the immigration hall grab a hand full of both of the I94/W and customs forms. Then, you have them for next time.

Good thinking. :) I did keep one of the ones I made a mess of, so hopefully that will jog my memory next year.

the exit usa system is being rolled over the country starting at major ports ext most airports will have them we did ours at chicargo which was our entry and exit

I've just had a look at that site - thanks!

A couple of things did occur to me though - how long does it take to use the machines? And how many machines are there in the airport?

What a good idea!! I wish i had done that we are going back next year & i just know i'll get it wrong again!! ;)

Silly question coming :teeth: does my dad need to fill out one of these forms? He has an American passport, also does he have his fingerprints and picture taken :confused3:

I don't think so. The I94 and I94-W and the fingerprinting and photos are for us aliens with or without visas.

:) Chris.

If they give out the forms at check in make sure you get plenty of spares - don't rely on them having enough on the aircraft. They ran out of spare forms on one of our Virgin flights a few years back!

When you are to take your turn for the Immigration, do you proceed to the official as a family or eg. one adult and one child etc.

Shameless Bump for my question ^
