Hi all, this is my first post though I've been reading the board for a couple of months now. My DH and I will be arriving late night on 10/23 for our first WDW as grown-ups (the last time either of us went was 10 years ago for our high school senior trips). We will me in the magic @ BCV 10/23-10/29, and 1 add on night (10/29-10/30) @ BC. This is the first trip I've planned and I am so excited.
As a teenager I once stayed at OKW and that was back in the day when DVC guests could use other DVC pools, so our group spent a day at SAB and then walked to Epcot for the night. From that day on it was my dream to stay at BC/YC! Well BC/YC was all booked up during our vacation week, but no worries, I was able to get a studio at BCV for the week. This is DH first time staying in the park so I am excited to see if he enjoys it as much as I do!
Everything is falling into place with 6 days to go.... I have my worn-in Teva's and I'm off to buy moisture-wicking socks, got a fanny pack all ready to go, undercover tourist line app on my new iphone, 2 pool noodles lining the perimeter of my suitcase, 6 day park hopper passes, a day at IOA and a car rental from the Dolphin to get us there and back, Magical Express is booked, and I just added the DDP.
We went back and forth on the DDP, but decided to add it since we love to eat and already made 2 signature dining reservations (Flying Fish and Yachtsman), a character breakfast at Cape May Cafe, and a lunch a Liberty Tree Tavern. Those meals will use up all our table service meals, and we intend to maximize the use of our snack credits @ the F&W festival, so it really made sense for us.
So far our tentative plan is...
(we are early birds so we are hoping to make as many rope drops as our bodies will allow)
Monday- Character Breakfast 735am at Cape May Cafe, then Epcot for opening (or as close to it as we can get), back to the hotel/SAB to relax, and DHS/Fantasmic @ night
Tuesday- MK for rope drop, lunch @Liberty Tree Tavern, Epcot/Illuminations @ night
Wednesday- AK in morning (should be a short trip, only interested in a couple of rides), SAB for the rest of the day, F&W kiosks for "dinner" then hop on the monorail (I've never been on it!)to MK for Wishes @ night
Thursday- DHS in morning, SAB, Yachtsman @ 730pm
Friday- p/u car at Dolphin, IOA/WWoHP for the day
Saturday- pick a park!, Flying Fish for dinner, extra night added on @ BC
Sunday- 3:15am ME pick up time and then home to NJ for some NFL!
We will be flexible with our schedule to allow for more rest and relaxation if we need it. Staying at BCV makes it so easy to head home from Epcot or DHS to relax and then head back in for a quick trip @ night.
Any tips for us newbies?
