Hello,

I have a trip planned to Vero planned for the end of June. Can you guys please tell me what king of activities they have for families? It will be myself, my wife and our seven year old son.

I'm hoping for activities with the charecters, beach stuff.

Also, what kind of things surround the resort? Are there a lot of restaurants? How about shopping? Maybe a Mini-golf place.

Any help will be great.

Thanks,

Frank

The Vero Beach Resort is located in a residential area of gated communities. They used to have a program called a Turtle Watch where a program is presented and then a guide takes you out onto the beach after dark to see the huge loggerhead turtles (150 - 300lbs). There is also the Kennedy Space Center about an hour and 15 minutes north. At the resort they advertised a character breakfast at Shutters Restaurant on Saturday. There are a few treasure museums in the area (McLarty's and Mel Fischers) within about a 10 minute drive. They have a campfire and a few other programs for the kids. It is a pretty quiet area around the resort - no amusement parks. Hope this helps you out.

Check out the member site special offers for a list of area recreational activities.

There is "small shop" shopping down in Vero Beach proper. If that's not your style, out on State Road 60 are lots of shopping centers including a large mall and a large outlet shopping center. It's about a 15-20 minute drive. The resort can give you directions.

If you are a baseball fan there there is a minor league ball park about 10 minutes form the resort.
Also their is a mall(Indian River) with a food court and movie theater inside. In front of the mall is a Bob Evans restraunt.

We also will be there at the end of June.::yes::

Here are a few links about VB.........the 1st link is all the restraunts in VB.;)
