First time to Disney with no kids....help!

I think we've been just as many times without the kids as we have with them!
Resort-hopping, sitting on a bench and watching the people, sleeping in, roaming
to our favorite attractions at a leisurely pace. Last January we went for three
nights, rented a car and never went to a single park. The Yachtsman Steakhouse was a nice place to go. Pretty and pricey....pretty pricey! But
really nice for just the two of us. We sat by the window and looked out at
Stormalong Bay which is lit so beautifully at night. Then a stroll along the
Boardwalk and we could see some of Illuminations from there. Perfect. Enjoy
your time alone. You know you deserve it!

If DH and I went with kids we would not know what to do. :lmao:
There are so many nice restaurants to dine at, as many have suggested.
You would enjoy a night in Pleasure Island too. Get the club hopper ticket. There are different dance clubs and two comedy clubs. I see a lot of adults drinking out of sand pails in PI. :rotfl2:
You can even do a little shopping if you wish. :thumbsup2
Maybe take in a Cirque show! :woohoo:
Or see if HoB has a concert that night. And there is even AMC theatres. :santa:
How about parasailing behind the Contemp?

Of course it made me think about them non-stop, but we had a great, no kid trip last year. Our favorite part...we dressed up and went to the California Grill and were up there at Fireworks time. Absolutely magical. Afterwards, there were EMH in the Magic Kingdom, so we went to Magic Kingdom in our nice clothes, put flip flops on and had a blast. Best night we were there!

We really enjoyed Epcot and taking our time REALLY walking in stores and seeing everything. With my kids, they get bored and I am always scared someone will accidentally break something, so we dont spend much time in the shops.

We also went over to Kimonos sushi bar in the Swan...or Dolphin (cant remember which one) one evening and they have karaoke and sushi. That was fun!

We looked at doing some of the tours but never signed up for them. Some of those would be better without kids.

We rode lots of the BIG rides. When we take our kids, we either fast pass and take turns or just skip them all together...and since this was my first trip since being pregnant (I was pregnant during all three of the previous trips), I wanted to ride all of the roller coasters and rides I hadnt been able to ride in a while.

We also ate at LeCellier, Wolfgang Pucks and spent some good time at DTD shopping.

We slept late one day and spent 2 1/2 hours in the lazy river at Blizzard Beach. Thats the ultimate relaxation for me!!!

So, we had a great time. Very different trip without kids. I am glad we did it and will do it again. That way, when we are with the kids, we arent wishing we could ride the roller coasters and just able to really focus on them.

Have a blast. We stayed at Coronado Springs, which is a beautiful resort, especially at night.

We went to WDW for our honeymoon 10 years ago and stayed at the POFQ. We liked it because it was smaller and didnt seem to be kids everywhere. We saw lots of couples and of course families, but not as many as when we stayed at the POP. Have a great time!!!

We enjoyed our stays at POR (then Dixie Landings). Two things we found to be especially romantic there are:
When returning from the parks in the evening, get off at the POFQ stop. The "streets" are lovely at night, as is the walk along the river back to POR. Lots of benches along a wide, well-lit pathway. Grab some chocolate chip cookies at the POFQ food court for the walk back home!
We really enjoy the boat to Downtown Disney in the evening. It's dark & usually quiet. When you first see the lights of DD from the water--it's just really special, at least to us. We try to do this once at trip, no matter where we are staying at WDW!
Have a great time & happy anniversary!!!!

DH and i don't have kids. we went to WDW for our 5-year anniversary last year and are going back for our 6-year this april. it was so much fun! DEFINITELY call disney and make sure they note that you're celebrating your 5-year anniversary on this trip! we did. we got pins which resulted in a lot of greetings and congrats from CMs and a couple of nice little freebies (frozen lemonade, for example). and one day when we returned from AK we had a card from aladdin and princess jasmine with balloons wishing us a happy anniversary in our room! also, when you make your dining reservations, tell the CM that this is a trip to celebrate your anniversary. sometimes you'll get cool little surprises with your dessert! we ate at narcoosee's one night and we got personalized menus which said happy anniversary mr. and mrs. _____ (not gonna put my last name on the internet!) at the top. speaking of narcoosee's, we really enjoyed our meal there and watching wishes from there was unbelievably romantic!!!

Narcoossee's is a great little spot too. Get there before your ADRs, have a cocktail at the bar, enjoy some dinner, and catch Wishes during dinner from the outside walkway. It's great.

I need some ideas/advice for our first trip EVER to disney with no kids. Our 5 year anniversary is in feb and we are going to disney for 3 night. We are staying at the POR....we have never been there before and are excited. ANy tips on trying to get a romantic room? do u think they would do anything special if we told them it was our 5th wedding anniver?

We will be going to epcot and again our first time with no child. Romantic food places? We normally do the princess breakfast and the character lunch at the land....so we want to do more adult stuff this time...

Any other ideas around disney(on or off property) to do....

thanks!

we just came back from a 8 day kid free WDW trip. plan 2 birthdays and an anniversary. just getting to do what YOU want to do. just an idea.

Went to BWV this past August for our 15th wedding aniversary. No kids. We had the best time. No schedules!!! We just did what we wanted when we wanted. We did however have one reservation at Victoria and Alberts. It was horribly expensive but it truly was a once in a lifetime experience. I even brought the rose I received back home with me. Have an amazing time and enjoy your alone time.:dance3:

DH and I love to visit Disney w/o our kids......and they're 26, 24 and 18!!! We went to WDW in 1979 for our honeymoon (couldn't afford to stay onsite that trip) and visited 3 times over the years between then and 2001 with our kids......then in 2001 we bought DVC and it's become our second home!! Our kids go with us at least once a year, but, we make at least one trip (sometimes two) w/o any of the kids or our grandson, who's six....we've also taken our grandson w/o the kids......but, we DO love to go alone......we also spent our 25th anniversary there!! Actually, we've decided to spend our 29th at Vero in 5/08, but, I'm surprising DH by booking two days at AKV before our four day stay at Vero....Shhhhh.....not going to tell him until we land at MCO on 5/11.......

We are going in March without kids to celebrate our 25th anniversary, even though our kids are 20 and 18. We are really looking forward to just doing what we want. We have reservations at California Grill for our actual anniversary day. We hope to be drinking a glass of wine while watching Wishes! We have made our ADRs for the other days but we are thinking of changing a few (maybe include Yak & Yeti?). We do have Le Cellier and Concourse Steakhouse but I'll be watching this thread for suggestions! We adults can have fun too!

For sure eat at Cinderallas Castle, that is so romantic. Get anniversary buttons at any park guest relations. At AKL they brought out this square board decorated in cookies and candy that said happy anniversary. It was a perfect picture memory and the cookies were great!
