So it's going to be my first time going to a water park in Florida! I am staying on I-Drive and I am not to sure wether to go to Aquatica, Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach. It will just be my boyfriend and I.

I was wondering what parks everyone recommends and if they have any tips please?

I apologize if there already has been a similar thread, I just can't find it!

Thank you in advance guys . You rule. :thumbsup2

Not an expert on water parks, but the closest to I-Drive is Wet 'n' Wild up near Universal.

It seems to have some interesting 'rides' but not the themeing that you get at the Disney waterparks or Aquatica.

Yea, the past 3 years ive stayed opposite wet and wild but I don't particularly want to go to the park as I have read very bad reviews and it always looks EXTREMELY busy :(

Yea, I think i'd prefer going to themed parks. I trust Disney more so aswell!

It also depends on what tickets you are buying - Disney Ultimate have their two water parks included in the price and Flex Pass has the Aquatica one.

The theming for Typhoon and Blizzard Beach is a lot stronger than the theming in Aquatica and is non existent in Wet 'n' Wild. Out of the parks I think Typhoon or Blizzard would be ones I would go to.

We don't tend to do water park days as such but tend to just take out water stuff in the car then pop in at tea time for a cool down if we want.

Wet 'n' Wild is at the top end of IDrive and would be the easiest one to get to if you are using the itrolley. I have not been but have seen it from the road.

Have you done your ESTA yet? Just seen on twitter you are saying you are unorganised.

Hey! Oh you're a follower, thank you for following me! Yes ESTA is completed, i'm just unorganised with packing etc lol!

As for the parks, I think I might have a go at the water parks in Disney. I am not getting a flex ticket or anything as I am only going to go to Hollywood Studios this year. I just wanted to try out something new, so I thought maybe we should try out a water park. I really don't fancy Wet'n Wild though.

TL and BB are lovely, the theming is excellent and they are both fab. There are more thrill type slides at BB than TL (nothing like W&W tho) but personally I prefer TL as it is very tropical :goodvibes

I am pleased you have done your ESTA, now on to the packing.:goodvibes

Yes, I think if you were going to go to just one water park I would pick one of the Disney ones. You probably would know now from the theming which you may be attracted to more ie tropical or snow, you will certainly like the lazy creeks where you can just bob around in the rings for ages.

I always find the water from the fountains that spray on you on the lazy creek at Blizzard to be extremely cold compared to similar ones at Typhoon. My sons think it is great fun to push their Mam under them given the opportunity. However, Blizzard does have a better family raft ride which is a lot longer than the one at Typhoon. Blizzard also has the tobaggan runs which are fun. I am not into slides so cannot really advise on these.

Brilliant, thank you! I am more likely to be the lazy person and laze around all day long. As I am not into slides, I think I may go for the Blizzard Beach park. Thank You!

Okay, well it all depends on what you want and what you are after.

Wet 'n' Wild
It's closest to you if you're on I-Drive. It is quite dated these days. There's too much concrete for my liking - when the sun gets hot, so does the concrete

Aquatic
Haven't actually been there, but did look at a lot of the promo pictures/videos when it first launched. Again, it's a bit like WnW, although has a bit more theming. From reports though, there is very little shade, which is something you really need at a water park. The other thing is they have the "really cool slide" where it takes up under the water pass the dolphins ( i think) and other creatures, however, you are going so fast that you don't really see it anyway, or so other have said.

Blizzard Beach
It's great for those who want to really let loose on the slides; it's more adventurous than TL, what with Slush Gusher and Summit Plummit. The rides are that little more hardcord, and therefore it's usual guests are teens and adults, although there is still plenty for the rest of the family. There are plenty of sun loungers, shade and while the paths are concrete, they do have sprinklers that keep them wet and a bit cooler!

Typhoon Lagoon
It's our preferred choice. The rides are a little bit gentler, although there are still a few hair-raisers/bum burners (our nickname for Crush n Gusher). There is plenty of sun loungers here too, shade and wet pathways. The wave pool is the best, and as random as it sounds, is normally where we spend most of our time. My mum and sister are not keen water slide people - it's only me that's ever done Der Stuka. So it's good for all of us there.

Adventure Island
Somewhere I've always wanted to try, but since it's out in Tampa (opposite Busch Gardens) it's difficult to get to without transport. However, I assume that it will be like WnW and Aquatica, in that it will be quite concrete like. It is also more geared towards water slide enthusiasts.

Wow, that's an awesome summary, I really appreciate it! thank you very much! I may also print it out so I can show the people i'm going with to get their opinion. So far it looks like TL suits me a lot more.

Thanks very much! :thumbsup2

We have done both TL and BB, and we preffered BB, we went 4 days out of our 2 week holiday this time, it was lovely just to bob around in the water! This won't apply to you but we found it better for the kids too, they loved the baby slides and stuff.

The Slush and Gusher (or what ever it's called) is deffo a bum burner!! LOL I went on it once and vowed never again I was in agony! :)

If you are not a slides person then I would suggest TL is the better choice than BB - both have slides but BB has more/better - TL is the better park to laze around imho.

As said above the theming is more tropical than BB and I alsways feel there is a bit less concrete at TL than BB.

Thanks so much guys! I really appreciate it, but the look of the up and coming weather in the next to week isn't good. So gutted, might not be able to even go to a water park for the day.ahh!

I have just come back and went to Aquatica, Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach and have been to Wet N Wild in past.

I like you am not a slide person and a lazy river person instead.

If you do not have any water parks on your tickets I would suggest either Aquatica or Wet N Wild.

Wet N Wild has no theming but is closest to you and cheapest as they are now doing a promotion for pay for a day and rest of year free.

Aquatica is bigger than either of the Disney waterparks or Wet N Wild and has a huge beach with 2 wave pools and 2 different lazy rivers so much more enjoyable for relaxing in. 1 wave pool is normal lazy river in tube type and other has more of a current so they do not allow tubes, but you can use adult lifevests if you are not confident in water. It is great fun.

Have to say I was really disapointed with both Disney waterparks after doing Aquatica, but they were free in our Disney ticket so stuck with it for the day. It felt crammed together and lack of space to relax. Would not pay the full day price for Disney waterparks in my opinion.

Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach - if only for the lazy rivers! Typhoon probably best if you've not been to one before its more relaxed but if you like it make sure you go Blizzard Beach too!
