First time PC (or any, for that matter) Resort guest...questions, please.

I'm so excited to FINALLY be staying in a Disney resort. We are planning for September 14-22. We were going to book the POFQ, but decided to put that extra money into playtime, and stay at Pop Century, thanks to all the rave reviews. My question is this. If I go ahead and book my rooms, AND start paying on them, what happens when the codes come out? I am a Florida resident as well as a AP holder. Will Disney refund my money, or will they apply it as a credit to my room, or what? I'm hoping to have my room paid off by the time we get there...secretly, so my dh will be surprised...lol. But I don't want to overpay if it's going to be a hassle, like "We'll mail you a check in 30 days" kind of thing. Anyone have any experience with this?

Also, where can I get a countdown timer? I'm dying to have one!

Did you book directly through Disney? If so, I suggest transferring your ressie over to dreamsunlimitedtravel.com (board sponsors). They don't charge a thing and will check back for discounts for you and automatically apply them. As far as the overpayment question goes, I'm not really sure since I usually put down the deposit and wait to send in the payment when the codes come out. I'm sure someone at DU could explain it to you though.
