Hello all. We are off to Australia and Hong Kong (from the UK) next year, aiming to be in HK at the end of March. We plan on our last 2 nights of the trip being at the Disneyland Hotel as the Airport is accessible from the parks.
So a few questions:
Do Hotel guests get early magic hours (can't see that on the Website)?
Do we need to buy Premier Access? Happy to as this will probably be our one and only visit, but no point if not needed.
And most importantly - will we be OK as English speaking guests - is there anything we should do? Would love the VIP tour but way too expensive!

Many thanks, any tips or must-dos greatly appreciated.

Haven't gone myself, but my understanding is that if you go on a weekday most ride lines are 15 minutes or less.

Early entry into the park is currently a separate pass that you have to pay for. It's not known if it'll still be offered in March but it currently allows you to go on the rides in World of Frozen and a few rides in Fantasyland an hour before park open.

Disney hotel guests can use the priority line for security and the ticket turnstiles but will be let in at the same time as normal guests.

If you visit on a weekday, Premier Access is not necessary for rides although the Frozen attractions can get waits in the 1/2 hour range in the afternoon.

The vast majority of cast members speak decent English. What you should NOT do is shove a phone with google translate to Chinese in someone's face without trying to speak English to them first. It's annoying/disrespectful, especially if you translate to simplified rather than traditional Chinese.

Many thanks for the information.

Re Google Translate - as an older British person I will use mimes, smiles and gestures to communicate - it's been used for centuries to overcome the language barrier! Seriously though that sounds really rude......do people actually do that?

Some people do that. In some countries like Japan, it's somewhat common for workers in service industries to be ready with a tablet to translate if they can't communicate with foreign tourists so similar behavior isn't viewed as negatively.

But many Hong Kongers feel a special attachment to the UK since Hong Kong was a British colony till 1997 so it can be particularly hurtful if someone assumed they couldn't speak English and should use simplified Chinese.

Hi
We visited HK DL a few months ago.
Yes, English is spoken everywhere and is not an obstacle. As mentioned earlier, HK was a British territory until recently.
Yes, a Premier Access is advisable. You will have the option of exercising your "front of the line" status on particular rides which is very helpful since you only have a day to experience the entire park. Make sure you swing through Frozen land since it exists only in HK DL.
Yes, hotel guests have an access through the turnstiles but not the EE that is available at DL and WDW. EE is probably not needed if you acquire the Premier Access. We were a family of 11 people (kids and adults). We arrived at rope drop and stayed through the fireworks. Using Premier Access, we were able to cover just about everything, including a table service meal, and still managed time for the required souvenir shopping. Have fun!

I’m going for 2 days in February. We will probably do early entry but skip premier access. I heard line ques are pretty short on weekdays.

We have just got back from both HKDL and SHDL. HKDL was sooo cruisey, loved it! Definitely did not need Premier Access, the longest we waited for any line was 12m for Minecarts at night. There were a reasonable number of people in the park, but they weren't doing rides, they were instagraming/taking pics. Very dressed up.
Early entry is extra, as people above said, we did it for 1 day to get pics with no-one in them. Food is very expensive. We really loved the park! Kind of like how the US parks used to be many years ago..

Many thanks everyone for the great advice! have booked the Disneyland Hotel for 2 nights with Club access (its my 60th birthday treat). Very excited now x

Hi.. following along, planning to go in Nov/25

How did you get the Premier Access pls? As a vacation package with hotel?
6 months in advance?

Thanks!

Just did all 3 Asia parks over the holidays. We did purchase early entry at HKDL for the first morning, and it was helpful getting into Frozen first thing in the morning (an interesting comparison to Fantasy Springs just having been in Tokyo). Did not purchase the premier pass for anything. I think the longest line I waited in was for the LinaBell M&G, which said 60 minutes, but it was actually closer to 30. We stayed at Explorers Lodge, so utilized the hotel priority line to enter the park on day 2, which was not all that easy to find.
