Hello all well I just bought our plane tickets for my daughters and I and its our first time flying.. I have alot of questions that need answered.. So here I go

1. My two daughters ID>>> My oldest one has a state issued ID card will that be enough ID for her to get in and then what about my 12 year old what form of ID do I need for her....

2. We are flying Delta airlines any tips for flying with them?

3. Any tips for security check?

4. cheapest way to pack

5.does it matter if my travel bag is off by a few inches we measured it and it is a few inches taller than what is allowed does it matter as long as i can store it on the plane?

I am sure I will have more

Thanks in advance

The kids are fine. No ID is required, though I always have my kids carry one anyway.

No tips for Delta. All the airlines pretty much suck. They may suck a little more.

Security-have the plastic zip bag with your little allowable liquids easy to pull out for screening. Everyone wear shoes that go on and off easily.

A few inches does matter. They can refuse it.

Delta may make you check a carryon bag that's too big. Airlines charge extra if a bag you check is oversized or overweight. Bags that are oversized are likely to also be overweight when packed. Delta charges $175 if the bag is oversized and $90 if the bag is overweight.

Chances are you need new luggage. Older bags are likely to be too big and too heavy. Some of the older bags can weigh 15-20 lbs empty.

It's OK to bring something to eat. Sandwich works.

We fly Delta all the time and have never had any trouble with them. Check your flights once a week though since times do change and if they change the type of plane being used you may have to redo your seating. Don't put anything of value in any checked luggage. With Delta you can check in on-line 24 hours before and print your boarding passes. You can also check any luggage at that time and pay the fee with a cc. It is cheaper to pay that way than at the airport where they are charging $5 more per bag. If anyone in the group will be wearing flipflops or sandals, have a pair of socks handy to put on when you have to take your shoes off - that way you aren't walking barefoot on those dirty floors. Our daughter does that every trip. We got a hand held luggage scale to weigh the luggage before leaving so that we won't be charged for overweight luggage - we then take it and use it for the return trip also. You can take snacks and sandwichs on the plane - no liquids allowed through security but you can buy them after security and they are allowed on the plane.
