This is our third cruise but the first time we are driving. We are staying a couple of days at WDW before heading to the port. A couple of questions:

Are there plenty of places to stop and pick up wine and bottled water on the way? Any recommendations?

Anything to know about pulling up to the terminal? We have always come on the Disney transportation straight from the airport - no need to book parking in advance right?

Thanks!

If you want to pick up anything, make sure you do it in Orlando. Once you leave Orlando, there is really NOTHING on the way to the port. You can pay for your parking in advance, but you don't have to.

No problem pulling up to the terminal. Once you enter the property, folks will be there to direct you all the way.

You can book parking online at the terminal garage but you don't need to. You can pay either with card or cash as you enter the garage.

if you don't want to shop in Orlando your best plan is to simply pass the port and continue down A1A. In just a few minutes you'll find a PUBLIX grocery and an ABC liq' and wine ....

they are not even as far as some of the car rental places. Then just run back to the port .... EASY and hard to get lost ..

Where are you staying at WDW? There are two locations just outside of WDW on your way to Port Canaveral. One is a grocery store But a little expensive the other is a Super Walmart. Don't forget quarters for the Tolls. Don't remember the amount exactly but around $6.00 should cover it. Unless you live in a state that has a reciprocal agreement concerning toll pass stickers.

There is also a Walmart about 10 minutes from the port if you need more than just wine and water. We like to stop there and get movie theater candy as we can't get it beforehand lest it melt in the FL heat and Publix doesn't carry the convenient little boxes. We usually forget a toiletry or something too so Walmart is easier to hit.

We are staying Club level at the yacht club so we don't need to stop on the way from the airport since we can get wine and bottled water at the club. Does Publix carry wine? Sounds like that might get us everything in one stop - I don't think ABC carries water...

Mickey called this morning and my boys are super pumped!

Thanks!

Publix carries everything. If you're taking 417 to the Beachline, there are several exits before you get to the Beachline for supply shopping. If you take I4 to the Beachline (528), there aren't as many options. Just punch your shopping preference into your phone GPS and you'll be fine. Keep in mind, once you pass 417 on the Beachline there are far fewer quick options before you hit the port.

The Super Walmart just outside WDW also has a ABC Store on the end of the Building.

There is a Publix and liquor store at exit 45a just off the 528 a few miles before the port on the south side. It is very easy to pick up what you need there. There is also a Walmart supercenter at the same exit if you need more than just snacks and drinks.

There's no need to book parking in advance, but you can save a fair amount of money with an outside parking and shuttle service.

Another question - we booked through Costco and have not received our travel docs yet. We leave early Saturday so there are still a couple of days but I assume you can get luggage tags at the terminal if they have not arrived in the mail?

Thanks

I forgot to grab our cruise docs once. It was no problem, as long as you know your stateroom number, the porters will take care of your luggage.
