I am traveling to WDW in November with my in-laws, my wife and my 4 month old child( give or take the delivery day :) It is certainly not our first WW trip and we have our favorite places to eat and snack. It will however be our first time using the DDP. I am contemplating getting the DXL plan, but not sure if we really need it. My wife and I are bigger eaters than my in-laws. But taking into consideration the flexibility I would like to have what does everyone suggest? Also If my in-laws wanted to share a plate at dinner do they both need to use credits? Can I roll over credits to the next day and combine them? How do we keep track of what we have used? SO MANY QUESTIONS :( Any help would be awesome.

Thanks!

First suggestion is to plan out where you want to eat. Don't plan it with any dining plan in mind, plan what you WANT to do. This is the only way to determine which, if any, dining plan will work in your favor.

If you decide on a plan, yes, your in laws can use ONE credit and share that meal at 99% of the restaurants. The one restaurant where they will not be allowed to do so is Via Napoli, so keep that in mind. They will only get one drink with this meal, so if they both want a drink, you'll have to pay OOP for it.

ALL the credits are available to you as soon as you arrive/check-in. So you could use ALL the credits on that first day if you choose. They will be available to you until midnight of the day you check out. If you don't use any credits on one day, then they will still be in your "bank" of credits.

Once you're there, you should be able to keep track of credits through MDE, but this seems to be hit or miss these days. Every time you use a credit, the balance of credits will be on your receipt. You can also check with guest services at your resort to get a balance.
