Hey all! I'm hoping the experts here can lend us some insight! We had an offer accepted on the 18th of January and all parties signed the contract on the 19th of January. Fidelity had everything they needed from us on the 19th of January. I called on the 20th to verify that Fidelity had all they needed. I asked when our contract would go to ROFR and if it was reasonable for me to think it would be there are Friday (January 22nd) and my agent assured me it was, and that the title company (First American) needed to pull our deposit first! To date, the title company has not yet pulled the deposit from our account. I've never been so hopeful to see money pulled from our account LOL.

So, my question is.....am I unreasonable thinking our contract should be there tomorrow? How long does it typically take from signed contract to get to ROFR? I've read the reviews on Fidelity and more so First American and I have NO problem email and calling as needed; I just don't want to be unreasonable :) Thanks everyone!

My offer was made and accepted on same day and sent to ROFR the next day before deposit was even taken out of acct. Less than a month it passed ROFR. Check put the “closing time” thread to get an idea.

I think it is reasonable for it sent by tomorrow when all contracts were signed. Hopefully it does as that broker does not work weekends.

We used a different broker, but their timeline they gave us also had the deposit being given before the contract being sent to ROFR. They sent the contract to ROFR as soon as it was signed, and the title company didn't run the card until almost 5 days later so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I am in the exact same boat!
The contact was signed by both parties last week and I was told that the contract wouldn’t be sent to ROFR until my deposit was taken out of my bank account and verified! What ended up happening with your situation? Did you get notified when it was sent to Disney? I am using fidelity and the same title company! Thanks in advance! :)

Unfortunately, It's been a HUGE battle to get simple answers. I cannot get messages returned or emails answered. All I wanted was a note the day the contract went to ROFR (as the broker promised). Although everything was signed 1/19, I just found out today (after I called the title company) that they didn't get it until 1/28! I'm SO annoyed! I am going to send an email to their management tonight with my timeline and lack of communication. I'm also going to advocate for NOT paying the $195 admin fee, because I have done all the work at this point.

That is definitely annoying. We bought our first DVC through Fidelity last year. The entire process was pretty smooth. It was just under 6 weeks TOTAL from the time I submitted the offer until the time the points were sitting in my account. My Fidelity agent was good with communication. The only time I had to reach out to him more than once was at closing, but that was because he was trying to get info from the title company. I actually wrote a letter to his boss saying how great of an experience it was. IMO, even if you are dealing with some hiccups it is still worth the money you probably saved through Fidelity. Although, I would DEFINITELY advocate for not paying the admin fee.

Exact same boat. Using Fidelity and all parties signed and its been a week and no sign of deposit taken or being sent off to Disney yet. I just sent follow up email asking if there is an issue.

I would call your fidelity agent, I called mine Monday and she informed me if the deposit hadn’t been taken out on that day (Monday) or by last night to call her and she would check in. Coincidentally the deposit was taken out around 7 pm Monday night and I got the notification it was sent to Disney for ROFR yesterday late morning via email. My agent also emailed me and let me know that it was sent off as well even though I got the email. So the title company didn’t pull the money until after the weekend (probably Bc they don’t do weekend charges), and then did Monday night (which I was expecting it to be done Monday Bc by the time everything was signed it was Friday late afternoon). Hope yours gets figured out! I had first American title company btw.

I also meant to say I would suggest calling, my agent picked right up when I called and said she saw my email but was slammed that day so she hadn’t gotten a chance to get back. Which makes sense, when you call they don’t have the choice to hold off on answering lol

Just got a reply. Said they should be running my card today or tomorrow. I will say their communication is lacking. If i ask for an update, they are very quick to respond but miraculously , they are"just doing it now". But I never hear from them until I ask a status. Fingers crossed we are headed off to ROFR today/tomorrow.

Wanted to update everyone that I had a great conversation with Mary at Fidelity today. She is the VP of sales. She shared that due to Covid they lost a lot of staff and suddenly when January hit their sales have been through the roof. They are trying to hire, but we all know how that goes. She apologized for the lack of communication and promised improvement. They also waived by $195 admin fee. Shortly afterwards, my broker called to apologize as well! She promised to do better moving forward! Just wanted to post the positive from today! It's crazy for all of us right now, some more than others due to Covid etc. It was a good reminder for me to show grace and empathy :)

That great to hear they responded so quickly and waived your fee.

In the middle of an Aulani deal with DVCResaleMarket and First American. Contracts were signed Monday (2/1) and it was sent to ROFR yesterday (2/3). I still haven't seen the deposit money come out, despite providing them with the CC authorization

I bought two contracts with Fidelity and had two very different experiences. First time was a charm from the start to the end . Second time went from a really good start , to a looooong time before closing . I did not sent the money until both sellers had signed ( thanks to this forum ) , so I saved on the exchange rate . But passed ROFR beginning of October and closed end of January ....

For those of you who’ve completed a resale contract w first American and fidelity who tends to reach out about ROFR? Is there a way to check on the status of that w the title company? Thanks in advance :)

We had our Fidelity agent check. I don't know if he checked with Disney or First American, but he is the one who notified me that we passed through ROFR. I emailed him exactly 2 weeks into ROFR to see if there was any word and there wasn't yet, then he called me two days later to say we passed.
