First Stimulus, Now "Deficit Reduction".

The sad thing is that those very people he wants to tax will simply move their money and businesses overseas where they will be welcome with open arms and lower business taxes.

Explain something to me. How does taking $$$ from one individual.... and giving those same $$$ to another...improve the economy? How??

I guess, the trick is to start thinking of it as "our" money...not "my" money?:confused3

Yes, we had "redistribution" back then as well.

Yes, but a small amount compared to the overall tax revenue.
Have you looked at how much social welfare programs have increased since the 50's?
Over thousands of percents. The destrucion the new deal created wasnt felt untill just recently. It took time to show its failure.
For every person on the wagon then we had hundreds pulling it.
now we have WAY too many people on the wagon. Sadly with Obama, it may get worse.

**pssst** Be very careful what you say. The Tag Fairy's in the House!! ;)

Whether they move themselves or their money overseas, they'll still be on the hook for US income taxes on their worldwide income ... unless they want to renounce their US citizenship. And then they'll never be able to go to Disneyworld again.

The chutzpah of this guy is mind boggling... First he goes on the biggest spending orgy in US history, and then he turns right around and talks about wanting to return "fiscal responsibility". I can't wait until Wall Street opens Monday morning to weigh in on Obama's wanting to "stick it" to the rich and businesses in the next budget year.

I'm so upside down with all this that I have no blood left in my feet..Good grief Charlie Brown...I need a hug

First he was going to create 3.2 million new jobs...yup that was the plan....than a couple days ago it was changed to ...WEll we will either create 3.2 million jobs or SAVE 3.2 million jobs :confused3 guess they decided to play it safe...

DH said that he will no longer work to make over $250,000 because he refuses to spread the wealth the way he wants to. We have no problem spreading it to disabled, Charities, Elderly and such. But giving to illegals or those that get rewarded for not working and getting money anyway does not cut it.

So we will make less...so much for reaching for the stars...

Also it's not the people that are making 25 million a movie(as many actors do) that this will hurt...it is the small businesses that will be paying the price.

Even my kids that are 12 and 15 dont get the logic behind it.

Its almost enough to make you want to start doing something illegal yourself, isn't it? Get paid under the table perhaps? Not something that can be done in DH's line of work.

Hate being the responsible do right type right about now.

(And I just noticed my tag is even color coordinated. hehe)

Can we say Manic Monday?? Will we see a DOW 6000?:scared1: S&P at 600?:scared1: How about the NASDAQ?:scared1: We may not see this Monday, but we're bleeding to death..slowly, but surely. Wall Street doesn't like ANYTHING out of Obama's, Geithner's or Bernanke's mouth. The market's going to drop like a rock.

The only thing folks are going to invest in? Handbaskets...they'll be necessity for where this Country's going.

They still have to pay U.S. income tax if they plan on selling here. Businesses will do what they always do, pass the buck onto the consumer.

How was the bill helping the economy? Bush's plan for the bill was to reduce unemployment and lower the deficit, none of which happened.

But, the jobs will be elswhere.....and probably with lower pay.

Outsourcing will happen even if we don't tax business at all. Companies understand that cheap labor exists and they always look to pad the pockets of the shareholders, what better way then to cut the meaningless worker and hire someone in India or China. Every management book that I have encountered states how companies are looking past the "human effect" and focusing on their own bottom line. The only way to prevent this would be for the government to offer an incentive based tax break that would come into effect if they keep a certain percentage of U.S. workers in their company. Otherwise it's basically a stimulus check for businesses to pay off debt or focus on other aspects.

It was helping but it wasn't enough. The dems took control in '06 There wasn't much that he could get done. This doesn't answer my queston. And, It doesn't mean Bo's plan isn't a ****?
