Greeting-
To my fellow extended Disney family.
I have made up my mind that if i'm going to go to WDW anytime soon then it will be the solo route. ( being single and no fellow Disney lover to go with is
not fun) this will be my first solo trip. Does anyone have advice I not sue when it will be May are Aug.

Any single Disney princess out there in the same boat?

Solo trips are wonderful!! Don't let being solo keep you from doing anything you like there, either. Book any table service meals 90 days in advance, and then go have fun.

My SO's work takes him away 5 months a year, so I take several solo trips during that time. Then when he's home we take several trips as a couple. I might do a little more of the stuff he's not crazy about when I'm solo, but the trips are very similar. All that's missing when I'm solo is the romance factor :lovestruc :rotfl:

I am on my way to my first solo trip in 25 days. I am so excited and can't wait to go. I even made some TS reservations.
All I can say is go for it! :yay:

Sorry for the long delay on a trip report, but I have been extremely busy for the last few months. However I did make my first solo trip to WDW last Aug. and stayed at ASMV. When I arrived at MCO it was kinda strange. MCO is a very airport to navigate I did stop once to ask where the ME area was located turns out I was going to right direction but had a little more walking to do.

After making it to the resort and waiting about two hours for the carpet to dry, I was off to the MK which at first was kinda strange being alone, but also it was a great feeling of freedom to do and see what I want to see. I would say if you are hesitant about going to to world,do it you will see the world in a different way, you may even see things you would never see with a group tour.
So go to the world and have fun, and if you don't want to go solo let me know I'm always up fro a trip.

I am thinking I have waited long enough and would like to go to WDW this year as a graduation gift to myself (masters in english literature). Does anyone have any suggestions on relativly inexpensive places to stay and eat, etc? I have one of the tickets for volunteering so I have one day at the park covered.

thanks in advance!:woohoo:

OP, I'm going on my first solo (semi-solo, if my sis keeps her promise to stay a night or two) in May. I am still freaking out a little (lot), but I am committed to this trip. I've never traveled alone, but what better place in the world to start? WDW is familiar, safe, and full of activities to keep your mind busy. So I am looking forward to making this a fun-filled and relaxing trip for one. Wishing the same for you; but to anyone with advice, please share...

I might be going solo for a few days in the beginning of June. I may have a workshop in Daytona and might stop by WDW on the way home for a few days, I just can't be that close to Disney and not go.
I love going places alone, so I'm not so worried about that. I think I'll miss the kids a little but they have gone twice in the past year, so I won't feel too bad. I am looking forward to seeing all the things I usually miss because they are all about the rides. I am happy riding something once. I really want to catch everything at Epcot and DHS that I missed the other times.

Hi there! I'm still in my post-Disney trip depression after returning from my 1st solo trip 2 weeks ago. Let me tell you, I had some concerns prior to leaving as well. Now having done it, I wouldn't hesitate to take another solo trip!

I booked ADR's and dined at TS restaurants each day, not having to worry about convienient times or other's appetites.
Take a few tours! The Keys to the Kingdom Tour was super.

Visit some of the bars if you are are so inclined. The tequila Cave in the Mexico Pavillion has gotten some great reviews. I enjoyed a few glasses in the Animal Kingdom and the pool bar at my resort and met some wonderful, chatty Cast Members.

The single rider line at Test Track was awesome! I traveled during spring break/pre Easter when it is very crowded and didn't wait more than 20 minutes for any attraction!

I literally "stopped to smell the roses" in Epcot and took in sights I normally would pass by with my sons.

Enjoy the ride - take the boats from Downtown Disney to the Port Orleans Resorts. Take a monorail resort ride at night during the Electric Water Pageant. Ride the train around the MK!

I'd go in May rather than August, just because of the weather and crowd levels.
:goodvibes
Whatever you do, enjoy yourself!

Give me a shout next time you are planning a trip :goodvibes

I haven't yet travelled solo to WDW (I did travel through Ireland and Scotland for 5 weeks myself a few years ago), but I probably will be in the next year or so. Just purchased DVC and might drag along some of my friends too, but it depends on if they're available or not. If not, I'll be heading down alone!

I'd love to say hi or meet up with some people while down there, so feel free to drop me a line!

Going to the parks solo is not as bad as you would think. Although it is nice to have someone to share it with sometimes.

Glad to know others are a little anxious before approaching WDW solo. DH and I are going to WDW 4/29 - 5/5 on a combined business and pleasure trip. He will be with me in the mornings & early afternoons, but late afternoon and evening I will be all by my little (umm.. well not so little and actually kinda jiggly) self. If I stop and think about it too much I get a little freaked out. Other than driving 4 hours to see family, I've never traveled by myself! It will be a weird experience to doEXACTLY what I want to do when I want to do it and not have to be concerned with DH and our 3 sons! Hmm.. I wonder if this could become addicting!!
