Hey guys,

My name is Heather and I just recently became obsessed with these boards while attempting to plan my first solo trip. I have a friend working at Disney, so it's not completely solo, but this trip will be completely different from all my other ones.

Usually, I go to WDW for a weekend and spend 12 hours a day running from park to park to get everything done in the three or four days I have. This time, I plan to take it easy and just do whatever I want. I made a bunch of ADRs and haven't even bought park tickets yet because I'm not sure about my exact plan of attack.

Anyway, I'm going March 10th-15th, which gives me almost six full days and I'm excited, but feel like I'm all over the place in terms of plans. Anyone else going then or have any tips to give a first time solo traveler? Thanks! :-P

Never having gone solo...but planning to with an obsession that is just NOT normal...lol...I don't really have any "tips."

But my advice is just remember that this trip is all about YOU! Eat where you want, shop where you want, skip what you want, and have an AWESOME time! Sharing your excitement!

Take some "me" time. I just did an 8-day, no parks, all resorts solo trip last year. It was heavenly.

Take time to do some nice meals. My fav this year (since Kouzzina's was closed for a refurb) was Sanaa. Nice ride to the resort and wonderful food, service and view of the savannah.

Also loved GF Cafe; it was like having dinner in someone's lovely sunporch.

Another favorite is checking out the lounges at other resorts. My personal favorite is WL; the snacks are very good and several years back, the place was slow on a Sunday night and the bartender "helped" me with the crossword puzzle. Also, love the Crew Cup Lounge at the YC.

Take time to do some resort shopping as well.

Most of all, just enjoy your time there. This was my fourth solo trip and they just keep getting better and better.

I've gone solo numerous times, and for me, it's all about the moment. I really don't plan much at all, other than looking at EMH and which resort in which to stay. I'm usually kind of a planner, and like knowing what's coming up, but I found this to be freeing. I've never made an ADR, and never had trouble getting into a restaurant. Why? Because I don't want to feel like I'm on a time schedule. That's what being solo is all about for me-- doing what I want, when I want. I know that takes some of the fun out of trip planning... BUT, I still plan! I look at different attractions and restaurants I want to experience, then get to them when I want.

I should note that there are times when I miss out on doing things due to lack of planning, and times I wish I would've planned better. But for the most part, it's worked for me!

Hope you have a GREAT time! If you have questions, feel free to ask! :)

I am going solo in October and was thinking of not making any ADRs. Thanks for posting that you've done this and successfully. I too am a planner but really want to relax and not have a schedule. Any other solo tips are appreciated. Have fun to all going soon!

I am heading out in a few days on another solo! I tried to take 3 solos over the past few months but other people insisted on coming!! so this trip I planned a few days ago, and I am heading out. I never make any ADR's and never having any issues if I want to just drop in somewhere!

this is my 3rd solo. but I to, being a CM know others in the parks!! lol
