And I'm the mother.

My DS is dealing with his first semester of finals, and noone here is sleeping. He had his first today and according to him he aced it. I hope so he was so nervous last night he was physically sick.

One down 3 to go - thank god for his radio production class - no final just semester long project.

How have parents dealt with this before? This is worse than taking them myself, just a few hmhmhm years ago.

I am not stressed at all about finals and i'm a freshman.
I had one this morning for german and i dont think i did very well but i am hoping for a low B then i had 2 take home finals for lit and seminar. The lit one got emailed tonight and the seminar one is due thurs night at 9.
My poli sci prof didnt give us a final.
I lucked out this semester.

Ooooh yeah... that is very true that is it hard on the parents as well! :scared: And this is coming from the student! :teeth:

I'm in my final year of Engineering, though this past term was a work term not a school term, so no finals at the moment. However, when I am writing finals, it's pretty stressful! :crazy2:

Writing finals has been hard every term, however first year was probably worse... writing my first set of six 3-hour exams... just getting into the swing of things and realizing what is expected. I just get so nervous about exams, especially with our high passing requirements, that I tend to feel the panic even when I probably shouldn't. I'm sure your son is grateful to have you there "going through it" with him though... it really helps to have parents there for you! My parents are absolutely wonderful so I can vouch for that! :)

Good luck making it through the rest of the final exams! :goodvibes I know around here everyone is certainly relieved when finals are over! (And even more so after marks are posted, LOL. :p ;) ) I hope your son does really well on the rest of his exams. Having the first one over with and having a good feeling about it should hopefully help! Then soon you can all relax and breathe a little easier! :sunny:

Gosh Tiggersmom, I remember dealing with finals...ahem...not so long ago *ducks from bolt of lightning*! I also remember feeling such a sense of relief when it was over. Good luck to your son--he sounds like a very concientious student. I'll have time before I deal with this, as my son is only 8. He's already decided his colleges of choice are Yale or MIT! I have a feeling my main concern tho' will not be finals, but the cost of tuition!:faint: Best wishes for the rest of finals--may they be stress free for you all!

Lisa...I dealt with it by sending her 20 hours from home. See ya later today norah at the airport!

Something else I have to look forward

Good to see you Lisa:wave2:

Vanessa - what a great idea!

His one and only choice of college was near home so he is living here for 2 years. Hopefully we will survive.

Then Jr & Sr if he maintains scholarship( love that word) we will help with apt in the city.

Oh yeah,

it's stressful. All I have been doing all wek is "cheering DD on".

She'll come home from school exhausted.

herc.

We're going thru this right now for the first time too. DD seems to be handling it well. Biggest stresser for me was her figuring out how she was going to get home. We settled that yesterday, phew!

The second biggest stresser is that one of her friends came down with a terrible bug. She was with him the night before he got sick. I'm so worried that she's going to catch whatever it is, to the point that I checked the University's policy on missing finals due to illness.

She's only got one left, and that's on Friday, so I'm sure everything's going to work out! I'm holding my breath to see how having her home for a month is going to be.

My DS goes to school far from home so we did not experience any finals stress-just the stress of worry while he and a friend drove home from South Carolina to Colorado in December-but they got here safely (Clemson finishes early). Now waiting for the grades to be posted is a completely different story-I think he checks 6 times a day! So far so good but the hardest class is taking the longest and hes making me nuts.

We're going through this with DS now too. He is 2 hours away. We talk with him every day and ask about studying and how his finals are going. He only has 3 finals. He had to write papers for the other 2 courses. Tonight he sounded tired and cranky. He comes home Friday. He is ready for semester break!
