First Row at Soarin'

Very advisable to do soarin first thing It was a 50 min wait when we were there last week.. we got there about 10.30 fast pass return was for 2.30

I was there on 11/1. At around 10:00 we got a fast pass for 10:40. We have been told that on weekends the situation you describe is true, but it didn't seem that way in the middle of the week.

I think having feet overhead is funny as heck.

If you ask politely, the CM doing the loading MIGHT let you wait for the next cycle if you really want a certain row. It's entirely up to them.

Good question...I've ridden the thing about a dozen times (at Epcot and DCA), and have never ONCE gotten in the front row! I always end up in the back, usually on the end. Kind of annoying. Wonder what it's like not to look at all the dangling feet...

The first row is nice, but not perfect, since the top of the screen is within your field of vision. Instead of seeing hanging feet, your peripheral vision sees the the top of the screen - and because your peripheral vision is very sensitive to motion, when it sees the top of the screen it "tells" your brain you are not really moving.

As a result, the "Imax" effect of Soarin' is actually better in the second or third row. There, the screen fills your entire field of vision, and the feet above your appear to be moving with the you, so the flying effect isn't "poisoned."

I thought this too until this past week. If you sit back with you back against the "chair", you see nothing of that "black hole". First time i rode it, i wanted to lean forward thinking i'd see more of the scenery but that black hole kept coming into my field of vision. Then i tried sitting back, big difference, can't see that hole at all.

The only time I felt the least bit of motion sickness was during the night time city scene. It seemed kind of jittery during that part. Both times I rode it, I was in the middle, center seat and the feet above me didn't bother me in the least.

I was fine for the whole ride except the "city scene" too. It made me a little nauseous but the ride is awsome! We got the first row 3 out of 4 times without asking....the 1st and 3rd time we were in the first row and same exact seats. The 4th time we were in the second row and I have to say that I never saw anyone's feet unless I looked up.

This is not really a theater in the round. If the picture starts to bother you (which it shouldn't) just close your eyes for a few seconds.

First row is great but the others are good too. :Pinkbounc
