First round of stimulus checks deposited today

I'm curious - has anyone used the Get My Payment app and got something other than the "cannot determine your eligibility" message?

Nope - got the same message again today. Grrr
Anyone who was getting the "eligibility can't be determined" message yesterday get anything different today? I'm getting the same, and none of the situations the IRS lists as reasons for it apply to us, so....

Same here. I'm glad it's not just me but still worried that this is going to take forever to get straightened out.

We are getting the same message too still & none of the explanations posted by the pp that the irs has said applies to us.
 
He used Turbo Tax but paid the fee up front, did not deduct from the refund. That was 2019 and done recently (IRS refund was deposited 4/13). Not sure if he paid fee up front for 2018. DH did his taxes so I'll have him look into it.

I filed with TurboTax as well in 2018, so was concerned (on SSDI now- have not received stimulus yet) until I read this article

Seems like the problem is with filing and receiving an advance on your refund from TurboTax when filing

We paid the fee up front, and our 2018 return was direct deposit via IRS , so they did have our bank info on file

Same here. Third day in a row now. The system doesn't seem to be overloaded anymore since I was able to log right in the last two days. Just still won't let me past the first page where I enter my SSN, DoB and Address. I did file using Turbo Tax but did not receive a refund - owed a small amount so the above article doesn't apply to me either. Sigh.

I electronically filed used Turbo Tax and got my deposit on 4/15. My mom (who is on SS) hasn’t got hers yet. While she has to file, she owes no taxes. I went to the IRS website to see when she might get her check. Where I get stumped is the question where you are asked if you got a refund or owed money. Wish they had an option for neither!

I read that the system doesn't work for those who neither owed or received a refund. Apparently they are "looking into it". Did you receive a refund when you filed so the IRS already had your direct deposit info? I'm just trying to enter mine but can't get past the first page. May just have to wait for a paper check. Unless they really think I'm not eligible somehow which would be incorrect since I make well below 75k a year.
 
From the IRS website under the frequently asked questions section: "The account information used to make an electronic payment to the IRS cannot be used as the account information for the direct deposit of your payment. If we do not have bank account information for you and your payment has not been processed yet, Get My Payment will allow you to submit your bank account information once you have properly verified your identity so that you can get your EIP via direct deposit. Otherwise, we will mail your payment to address we have on file for you."

This does not really make any sense to me but I guess it does to the IRS. I put in my information and now it says:

"You are eligible for the payment. Once we have your payment date, we will update this page.

We will deposit your payment to the bank account below.
Bank Account Number: ************

Updates to your payment are made no more than once a day. We will mail you a letter with additional information on this payment.
If you need additional help or do not receive your payment, please visit our Frequently Asked Questions page."

Wonder if they will update it when they have my payment date or if the money will just show up!

And, do we really think there will be another round of stimulus checks with the problems they are having getting the first one out?

Now it’s still saying the locked out message for me & it’s been over 24 hours. I read that they said if you filed your taxes in 2018 and/or 2019, they do have your info. But, I really don’t want to have to wait months for a check when I can easily input my bank info. And it’s extra obnoxious that they do have my bank info when they need to debit my account!

same here. I have a feeling it’ll just show up one day.

I don’t think they’ll cut paper checks if they don’t have to so I believe it’ll be direct deposited. But when, I have no idea.

Congrats on successfully submitting you bank info. I have struck out for the 3rd day, despite being told we are eligible but they don't have our bank info. I have resigned myself to wait for the paper check. The system was obviously not designed to handle our specific situation (instead of taking the refund, I credited it to my 2020 taxes). I have tried with the amount of overpayment, and the amount of actual refund (zero). Neither works.
 
As of the night of the 15th my DS was getting the locked out for 24 hours message. We tried all day yesterday and got same message, even around 24 hours after the 1st time we got that message. So do you have to not try for 24 full hours? Like every time we try the 24 hour clock restarts? I haven't tried today but DS may have.

For me it was just based on the first time I got locked out - the clock didn't restart if I tried again later and was still locked out.
