From the IRS website under the frequently asked questions section: "The account information used to make an electronic payment to the IRS cannot be used as the account information for the direct deposit of your payment. If we do not have bank account information for you and your payment has not been processed yet, Get My Payment will allow you to submit your bank account information once you have properly verified your identity so that you can get your EIP via direct deposit. Otherwise, we will mail your payment to address we have on file for you."
This does not really make any sense to me but I guess it does to the IRS. I put in my information and now it says:
"You are eligible for the payment. Once we have your payment date, we will update this page.
We will deposit your payment to the bank account below.
Bank Account Number: ************
Updates to your payment are made no more than once a day. We will mail you a letter with additional information on this payment.
If you need additional help or do not receive your payment, please visit our
Frequently Asked Questions page."
Wonder if they will update it when they have my payment date or if the money will just show up!
And, do we really think there will be another round of stimulus checks with the problems they are having getting the first one out?
