Our family is grappling with these choices for our first MK ride. Please help!
(FYI.....we didn't include Dumbo because we are waiting to do that at night on another day at the park!)

Okay...I obviously did something wrong...I thought I pressed the button to create a poll...but I guess not!
Anyway....we narrowed the choices down to these:
Peter Pan
Small World
Winnie the Pooh
Buzz Lightyear
Mad Tea Cups
Tomorrowland Test Drive (not sure of the name!)
Other.....!

I would say Winnie the Pooh or the speedway. Lines for these can get long quick. I would probably save Its a Small World for last since that rarely has a long line- unless you have small kids that you are trying to get used to the rides- IASW would be a great first ride for them.:D

Our first is always...Dumbo. Then we rush over to Peter Pan. Once we have done Dumbo on that first EE day, we start future EE at MK with Peter Pan!!! Just love Peter Pan!

I would say grab a FastPass for Pooh if possible as soon as you get there and then head over to the Speedway (it's not far). If they don't have FastPass going, then just do Pooh and then the Speedway aftetwards.

I love Buzz, so I'd go there first, but you can also get a FP for it and head to the Speedway, because line there moves really slow...

I would do the tommorrow land speedway then head to peter pan. pooh and buzz can be done with fastpass. small world and tea cups don't have a long wait

I'm not sure if I read your post the wrong way, but are you looking to avoid long lines, or experience the "NOW you are at Disney" magic? Also you don't say how old your kids are; what's magical to one may not be magical to another. If you're looking for Disney magic, I would do Small World first. I know a lot of people hate this ride, but IMHO, nothing says WDW like Small World. ;)

I would do something along these lines if I wanted to save time:

Get FP for Peter Pan
Go on Tea Cups, Pooh, Small World
Go on Peter Pan
Immediately trek over to Buzz and get FP and then get in line for Indy Cars. You may have a wait for the cars, but while you are waiting your Buzz time will come up.

If you want to go for magic, get a FP for Pooh and do Peter Pan first! A very magical attraction!

If you are going right when the park opens, I'd ride Dumbo first (avoiding unshaded lines later in the day). From there you can head east (Winnie the Pooh, Tea Cups, Speedway, Space Mountain, Buzz, etc.) or west (Peter Pan, Splash Mountain, etc.). The only time we have been able to ride Dumbo without a long wait has been first thing in the morning. Makes for some great first videos, too.

Have a great time!!!

I would do them in this order:
Winnie the Pooh
Peter Pan
Tomorrowland Speedway
Mad Tea Cups
Buzz Lightyear
Small World

Get the two FP rides out of the way first then do the others.
