So this is the first time I do a PTR or a Trip Report. I hope I can make this interesting for y'all.
First some introductions, I'm Sandra and I absolutely love Universal, my husband Jared also loves Uni. We have been married 15 years and don't have any kids. We love to spoil our nieces and nephews. The nephew that is coming with us is Jared's godchild. N is 9 and has 2 little sisters, aged 2 and 4 months. He has never been to a theme park.
The way this trip came about is we were supposed to be going to UNI in Oct. for our anniversary. We have been wanting to do HHN for our anniversary for years and were finally able to afford it. Well Memorial day weekend N stayed with us and it was Harry Potter weekend on TV. We were talking and I made the comment that parain and I had been to Harry Potter land, much faster to say then Wizarding World of Harry Potter. He made the comment that he would like to go. This got my husband and I thinking. N has never really gone on a vacation and with the new baby they aren't going to be going on one for a while. Let's change our dates and bring N to UNI. He loves Marvel, Transformers, Jurassic Park and Harry Potter. His birthday is in August so this is his present this year, just a little early.
Well we were in the car and I asked N if he could go anywhere for vacation where would he want to go. He said to Florida to visit his godmother, Jared's sister. So I started thinking we could drive to Jacksonville, where she lives, spend a couple of days with her and her family then head to Orlando. I sent her a text to make sure they didn't have plans that weekend and find out they are also planning a trip to UNI but in July before her daughter goes back to her dads in Arizona. Now we haven't seen our niece in 4 years so sis-in-law and I start planning. For 2 days texts flew back and forth then the calls started. We finally settled on July 10th through the 15th.
We really would have liked to stay at RPR for EP but that just isn't in the budget for either family so 2 family suites at Cabana Bay it is. At least we will still have EE. We got 3 day P to P tickets, and we'll spend one day relaxing at the pool before driving back to Louisiana.
In all the planning we have not told N that we are going. We ok'd it with his parents and we are going to surprise him when his dad comes in from offshore. He wants to see N's reaction. So in the past couple of days I've gone a little crazy planning his surprise. Everyone is so excited that we are taking him that they are giving us money to give to him to buy whatever he wants. I bought a reusable shopping bag that is Marvel. It will be his car activity bag. I bought activity kits that are minions, Jurassic World, and Transformers. I bought a book of Harry Potter post cards for him to color and then send to whomever he wants. I made a countdown calendar for him and got stickers for him to put on the days to countdown to the trip, so he doesn't keep bugging everyone about how many days are left. I also made him an invitation. It's nothing fancy, just a piece of card stock with stickers on the front but I'm proud of what I came up with to write inside.

We are keeping the fact that his godmother, uncle and cousins are going to be vacationing with us a secret. All the adults are very excited because, the fact that we are going is being kept a secret from the cousins. None of the kids have been to UNI and range in age from 4 to 16. It ought to be interesting.
I'll try to keep y'all updated on the goings on leading to the trip. I also plan on doing a full trip report when we get back.
