first post...early plans

Hi all,

making the first tentative steps into planning a visit to Disneyworld for me, the wife and our two kids - there seems so much that i'm a little anxious that we get to do and see it all!

any other people on the board from the uk got any tips on planning to make sure we dont miss anything vital?

please can i have a few suggestions of what we should make SURE we see, bearing in mind we have a 6 year old boy and 9 year old girl.

With children those ages, I would start in the Magic Kingdom. Try to see or do just about everything there. This can take 1 1/2 to 2 days depending on crowds. Those are the best attractions for kids. You can check out the disney site for a list of all attractions. Next I would do Animal Kingdom, 1/2 to 1 day. They close early, so you can start another park in the evening. MGM after that, about a day for that and lastly EPCOT. 1 or 2 days, depending on your kids interest. You can never see everything, so don't stress if you miss things. Hopefully you will be able to come back some day and see the things you missed and the new things that have been added. Just remember, have fun, take time for the little things, sometimes those bring back the best memories and the biggest attractions are forgotten.

thanks for reassuring me that we wont get to see everything - i knew it would be the case - but it is good to hear it from someone else! i can stop stressing so much now.

we are hoping to be that side of the pond for 30 days, but in the Disney area about 10.

i'll have a look around the site in more depth now, and go from there!

First WELCOME TO THE DIS!!!

By researching here some, you've made the first steps in helping to plan your trip. I would research each park a little bit, familiarzie yourself w/ FP and EMH and how to use them to your advantage. Be sure to look into the different dining options and make some ADR's.

I also want to assure you it is impossible to see and do everything. WDW is so much fun just let it soak in and enjoy whatever it is you plan on doing. There will always be another trip to make new discoveries.

Welcome! You're in the right place to learn all of the insider information to make your WDW holiday the best possible. The one thing I learned early on is to look at a park map or the online Disney site and find all of the attractions that I just had to do. Once I was familiar with all the "high" spots, I was able to use the map at the parks and go directly to all the things I felt I could not miss. Then I sometimes had time to check out some extras. I've been many times and still have not done it all. I hope you have a magical trip!
