First night of MNSSHP

Thinking of going in early Oct. and trying to catch MNSSHP. Unfortunately we would only be there for the 1st night, as we would be leaving on the 12th. I think I remember reading that the first night is always crowded. For anyone who has been, how bad are the crowds? Could we get in alot of rides during parade times, or will the lines still be long? Also, is Fastpass offered during the party? This would be our only time at MK this trip, and I really wouldn't want to go and spend half of our time in long lines. Has anyone been the first night?

I'm wondering too if anyone knows how busy first night is, we have the option of either the first night(friday) of second night which is a thursday...anyone with crowd pattern history

My daughter and I were there for the first night this year, which also coincided with Columbus day weekend. The park was crowded, but the waits for rides was not long that we recall. The lines for the free picture were very long, and we never ended up getting a picture taken. We ran out of gas around 10:15, though, and left, so I am not sure how the rest of the evening was. I saw a lot of young children there, and I can't imagine that many of them lasted to midnight!!

Thanks, i see that hte first night this year is the Friday of Columbus day weekend too...i think that we will try for the Thursday one and hope for lower crowds
