We are going to WDW Sept 25th, but will be arriving in the Orlando area in the evening of the 24th. In the past we have gotten a regular hotel room on I drive, and called it good, but looking at the annual passholder rates we could actually get a very reasonable value resort room for this night.

Does anyone else do this, start off a DVC trip with a cash reservation?

Could we get QS dining for this one night as we would then have our refillable mugs for the trip (I understand they now have passholder dining plan packages)?

How do you book a room, or a room package with dining on the annual passholder rate?

Thanks in advance for your help on the matter.

We are staying the first two nights at POP as we couldn't get reservations, and it was after our banking period, and just got the AP rate...we'll be at OKW for the following week.

It seems almost always we end up doing this. We are west coast folks and spend all day flying. We get in either after 6 or closer to 10. I try to book at a value on a code as DH says he likes the Disney feel of staying on property.

I have also booked us at offsite for $45 at the Radisson and we do both options for our pre DVC stays.

Lately we have been going to VB after a few days in the park so we have stayed at hotels near the airport and fly out first thing in the am.

Do you know if you can get the DDP for that one night on a cash ressie with AP discount?

Who do you book the AP holder rate through? (what number do I call)

can't help you with the dining question, but as far as a room with an AP rate, you just call the regular CRO number, give them your date, resort preference, and ask if an AP rate is available then. Easy, peasy:)
