So I am a sophomore (16 years old) and today I was looking at classes I would take next year because I will soon be having to pick them and sign up for them. This led me to thinking about my future job because I was picking classes that would set me up for my future career. This also led to a family discussion about me wanting to get a first job to set me up and get experience for my career. When I grow up I am becoming a pharmacist so I was looking to work at osco. My parents do not require me to get a job while I am in high school except if I want one for the summer. I think this is wonderful and very generous but I would love to start working at osco this summer and maybe 1 or 2 or 3 days (or preferably weekend days) during the school year. [[Then as time goes on I would be working there waiting for an opening in the pharmacy there at jewel-osco]]. My parents are okay with the summer part but were unsure about the days/weekends during the school year because I am already loaded with homework this year and I will be taking AP classes next year. They were saying not that I CAN'T do it but didn't seem to like the idea because they want me to keep my grades up.
I know it would be hard, but I don't expect it to be easy. It would be really hard but I know it's possible. I know it would be a lot of work and I'm not looking to be super stressed and all, I just want to be as ready as I can for my career.
I don't know., so now I am just worked up and don't know what to do. I guess I would just have to wait until this summer., apply if there is an opening., see if I even like it there., and then ask if I could even work only 1 or 2 days during the school year?
Any input or ideas.?
