Just back from trip to San Diego/Anaheim. Both myself and my husband had been to DL before, but this was the first time for our 9 year old son. What an incredible experience to see it all again through his eyes!
We had planned the whole trip back in January and managed to keep it a total secret until the morning we were leaving.
We flew into San Diego on Sept 29th and spent the 30th at SeaWorld and Oct 1st at San Diego Zoo. We then took Amtrak that evening to Anaheim. What a great trip that is. I highly recommend it.
After a good night's sleep at the BWPPI we were on Main Street for the opening of DL. Although it was pretty crowded considering it was supposed to be the 'quiet time', we had an amazing time. Even my husband who is not a huge fan of crowds had to admit he had fun.
It was great to see the changes at POTC and the Nightmare Before Christmas at HM. All of the Halloween decorations were fantastic.
We did however miss Fantasmic as it was not playing during our stay, and we also missed out on Aladdin in DCA.
I think the highlight of the trip for me was seeing the absolute joy in my son's eyes as we watched the fireworks on the Friday night. Eventhough we knew the park would be much busier on a Friday, we purposely went that day so that we could catch the fireworks. They even announced at one point that they may be cancelled due to winds. But in the end, they did happen and it was incredible.
It's not an experience we will soon forget and we can't wait to go back again.
