Do you all think that you pack differently now that you are DVC-ers? What are some things that you did/didn't bring before that you don't/do now? Any advice?

Thanks!:thumbsup2

What are you staying in, driving or flying? I pack less clothes due to washer/dryer. I also order groceries and we bring a few packs of dishwashing soap and a ziplock bag of laundry detergent. We pack some toys for the kids and some water toys as we don't "comando" the parks and relax. If we ever drive and have room I'm going to bring our "rec" bikes.

Enjoy your first stay and hope you enjoy it as much as our family. The biggest thing I really enjoyed was the ability to RELAX, I was really surprised that I was WDW with 3 kids and actually was able to relax:banana:

With DVC we pack fewer clothes (washer in room) and:

Laundry detergent (we use the dish detergent in the room)
Dryer Sheets
Salt and Pepper
Cereal
Coffee
Sugar
Coffee filters (Mr. Coffee)
Jam
Peanut Butter

We buy milk, eggs, half and half, bread and margerine from the store at the resort.

We usually bring a few DVDs for evenings/ rainy days - we never use them but they are easy to pack.

Also, since the shampoo isn't getting replenished each day, we need extra shampoo, conditioner and lotion - which in a 'regular' hotel room we'd just use the little bottles housekeeping leaves.

Like others stated, we only pack about half of what we would normally and bring some laundry detergent. (Target has some nice sample bottles that have 2-3 loads worth)

I also bring a Brita water picture. Some small food items; tea, cocoa, oatmeal , granola bars, etc.

If we have a rental car we go to the grocery store for breakfast and lunch supplies. Last time we didn't have a rental and decided if we were to go that route again we would use WeGoShop.

Driving also gives you more flexibility in that you can bring more food from home in a cooler if are planning on any kind of cooking in room, or at least gives you the flexibility to find your own market on the way there vs. ordering groceries in - or running out to get something mid-trip if needed, instead of paying Disney's prices for what you need/want.

We definitely pack less with the in-room w/d. Our last trip was a 10 day trip and we basically packed for a 5 day trip. It was awesome having less to deal with.

Have a great time!

As previous posters, we bring less cloths with the washer/dryer. We bring laundry detergent, dryer sheets, detergent for the dish washer, coffee, coffee filter, tea bags, sugar, salt, pepper, cooking oil, Lysol wipes to clean the bathroom sinks and hot tub, and night lights. We also drive to Disney and would bring 1 or 2 cases of water which we put in the freezer so we have cold water to drink in the park (we go in August). You can rent movies at the Community Hall. Have a great time.

I agree with the other posters. If I drive (NY - Fla.) I bring less clothes, small bottle of laundry detergent and dryer sheets. Coffee, tea, sugar, salt & pepper. I also bring a few cases of water to freeze and take into the parks with me. There are a couple of decent supermarkets close by to get some breakfast and snack items which I do and then we have extra money to do a couple of nice dinners. I'm on vacation cooking :rotfl:not happening!

Thanks everyone! We are driving from NC and staying at SSR. We are so excited! :cool1:

Driving gives you a lot of flexibility - if you want to spend the space - I'd never dream of taking a crockpot when I fly - if I drove - well, I'd never dream of taking a crockpot - but people do and then have crockpot dinners rather than spend the money dining out.

We bring more food from home (mostly BF food and snacks) and less clothes now because of laundry amenities. More food is the biggest difference in how we pack.
