My family which are all adults have been on all the Disney ships once or twice in April/May throughout the past 8 years. We are going on our first Merrytime cruise Dec 2 , 2016. We would appreciate any suggestions on what to pack, weather, special dinners or any input you have from your own experience.

I did a Merrytime Cruise on the Dream last year and aside from the Christmas decorations, gingerbread house and a special visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus I don't recall any special dinners. I also didn't pack anything different as far as clothing to compensate for the weather because it's still warm. I did pack my Santa hat so I could take some pictures for my holiday cards but that was about it.

We did this in December 2014 -- don't miss any of the shows they schedule in the atrium. They were fun and Christmassy and even included snow! I don't recall any special dinners, but the decorations were awesome.

Clothing wise, I would suggest watching the weather leading up to your trip to decided what to pack. I cruised the first week of December 2014, but we stayed in Orlando for 3 days before the cruise. My cousin had been in Orlando two weeks before we left and they had to wear pants and jackets most of their trip or at least in the evenings. For this reason, we were watching the weather closely for the lead up to our trip.

During the three days in Orlando, our weather was mostly high 70s. The only time it was chilly was when the sun was not up, so in the early morning and evening hours we needed jackets. Our cruise was what we would expect for Florida/Bahamas and we were fine in short sleeves, shorts and dresses/skirts the entire cruise. We all did make sure to take at least 1 pair of long pants and a jacket or sweatshirt just in case.

Thanks for the Santa Hat idea!
