We are going back the end of July/August. Going to be a shocker since our two trips up there have been in off season. I cant imagine the traffic on the main drag once everything is open
The place looks beautiful. Glad you had a good time prior to it being cut short. I love how rural the campground is.
I work in NYC and I agree that the movie sets are more of a pain in the behind then its worth. Around here its hard to close off sets so you always have a bunch of people watching on top of all the trucks and regular traffic. No fun!
While the Camp ground is very woodsy, you can hear hwy noise, esp at night. That was a bit of a bummer, and I wonder if the same is true for Devils Lake...
Devils lake should be quieter since there are no major highways going past there. Just be aware of the swimmers itch in the summer at devils lake. All you have to do is shower after you swim and that should take care of the nasty little buggers. Also if you go to devils lake please stay on the marked trails I know not fun but my DH is a EMT and Fireman and he has picked up his fair share of people who don't stay on the trails and fall and get hurt or die. He was at one last year where the person was crushed by a boulder he didn't sleep for a while after that. Ok done with my public service announcement.
I have to say that Devils lake is a beautiful park I think it is better than mirror lake.
