Hi,

Any of you old-timers out there able to answer this: what times does the first boat from the Fort go to Magic Kingdom at - we arrive next week and are definitely planning to arrive at MK for rope-drop.

Tim

I was there for a conference and had to be at the Grand Floridian around 7:00 each morning- I took the boat from FW to the Contemporary around 6:30-6:45 then the monorail over to GF- I'm sure you could take the monorail that early to MK! Have fun!:yay:

There is a direct boat from the Fort to MK (green flag) but I just don't remember what time is starts. I vaguely remember 1 hr. You will definitely be there in time for the Rope drop.

We normally don't rush over that early.

In simple terms.

The first DIRECT boat to Magic Kingdom starts 45 minutes to 1 hour before park opening. If you truly want to be at the "front" of the rope drop crowd, that is too late. However, if you just want to be there before the turnstyles open and don't care if you are "first" at the turnstyle line, then you are OK.

However, if you truly want to be one of the first folks at a ticket booth, then there is a small launch that runs between the Fort, Wilderness Lodge, and the Contemporary. That boat starts at 6:45 am. You can get off at the Contemporary, then walk over to the MK to make sure you are one of the first in line.

Super thanks - that's the info I needed.... although... errr... of course now I have two more questions...

- How often does the launch to contemporary go?
- How long does it take to walk to MK from Contemporary?

Sorry, but I'm so OCD, I *have* to know ;)

Who you call'n OLD ?!?!?

I'll have you know that in Disney years I'm only 7 !! pixiedust:

Walk through the hotel, across the parking lot and the street, past the bus drop -off to the gate. Maybe 8- 10 minutes. Actually, it may be as fast or faster than taking the boat through the seven seas lagoon.

I know we have walked to the contemporary after the fireworks at MK because the line for the boat launch was so long. I believe it was quicker in that instance.

The first boat from the Fort to MK used to arrive at MK, at least 30 minutes prior to opening. Now I usually don't see the first launch peeking it's nose out from the storage area across Bay Lake until about 40 minutes before opening. Which means that by the time it docks at FW, heads across Bay Lake & Seven Seas Lagoon and docks at MK, the park has already or is just about to open. Probably another Disney cutback to save a few dollars & inconvenience the guests.

The only way to make sure to get there early is, like someone else advised, to take the boat to Contemporary then walk to MK.

Super - just what I need to know - to the Contemporary it is then and a wee walk. I have to be there at least half hour before opening!! :)
