What can I expect? How is the food in the food court? My wife and I, and her parents are going in march after a 4 nite cruise and was just curious how this hotel was. We took her parents on their first cruise during the 9/18 Hurricane Jeanne cruise this year so they didn't get to see castaway cay, so we are takin them again this march.

Looking forward to staying in the ASMo Resort.

We've stayed at the AS resorts numerous times (and this was after staying @CR) We love it. The food court is very good--much better than I originally expected. We eat breakfast there most every day and sometimes lunch or dinner. There is a pretty good selection for most tastes. We're fond of the transportation to/from the parks. The rooms are smaller but still comfortable. I hope you have a wonderful trip. This will have to be better than cruising in a hurricane.

Thanks!

Definately looking forward to it! Glad to hear the food court is at least very good! That was the biggest thing my DW and I were worried about.

The 7(6) night 9/18 trip was actually quite an experience. Trip was perfect except for the last day getting messed up. But it was an experience to add to our list of disney adventures! Plus we got a voucher for next (march) cruise, and got to stay in the Dolphin Swan for one night.:smooth:

I personally love the value resort food courts. There are so many yummy choices! My favorites are the Mickey Waffles, the taco salad and just about any of the desserts. It is so convenient too.

Have a great trip.

You'll really like it. We took my parents with us last year and I was a bit worried about how they would feel about the food court. It's definately not a quiet dining spot since I feel this resort is geared toward families with very young children. My parents loved the resort and thought it was great. They commented on how impressed they were by how clean everything was considering how busy the place usually is. They also loved the food court. My dad was very impressed by the amount of food you get for your dollar and that there were many more choices than just the typical hot dog and hamburger selections.

Thanks for the info! Can't wait!!!!

I was not overly worried. My wifes parents are as much of a kid at heart as we are! (and i'm only 22, so still plenty of "kid" left in me!)

I saw on the site there is a pool side bar. Is this the only one in the hotel? I assume there isn't one in the food court, being family themed and all.

The poolside bar was the only one there, but I think they sold beer in the gift shop. Maybe someone else can verify that, but I'm pretty sure they had it....in the coolers in the back of the store.

We stayed at Movies 3 weeks ago, and we loved it. We liked the food court, you really get a lot of food, we split a bunch of meals, not for cost, just because we didn't need that much food.

Enjoy your trip!

Steph

Just back from ASMovies 10-11 to 10-16. There is a poolside bar. Also there is beer and wine coolers in the gift shop. I think there might have also been beer in the coolers in the foodcourt, can't remember for sure. The food was okay to good depending on what you ordered and what your tastes are. Also depending on your budget, you might want to check around these and other disney boards for information on prices for the food. They do have some combinations of things that are pretty good deals.

Bus transportation was good. However at the end of a night, sometimes one bus took people back to all 3 all star resorts, so you will be the last to get dropped off. Wait for a bus that you can sit on, then you don't have to keep shuffling around. Also some of the bus drivers are faster than others, standing the few times we did could almost be like a ride at the parks.
Overall, we love dour experience there. Enjoy your trip.

Yeah we know what to expect with the busses. On our honeymoon we stayed at the CBR and were almost always the last stop for the bus. We are actually thinking about renting a vehicle while we are there. That's what we did before our september cruise, and despite getting slightly lost (only slightly because we could actually see where we were trying to go, lol, just had trouble following the right combination of roads) we had no problems.

Well thanks everyone for the info. This was my first time using the DIS boards, and I'm definately glad I found the resource before our next vacation!

This is an unrelated question, but I couldn't see starting a whole new thread for it.

I saw a post in here the first time I came to the site that had a searchable database where you could pick a cruise/date and get a list of people that had registered for the same cruise.

Anyone have any Idea where that is? I've searched the forums some, but am having little luck finding it.
