Firm Thread May 1-31st

Good afternoon everyone. Today was Taebo boot camp lower body. Doing those lower body moves with those bands will shake you up. But a good workout!!! Anyone looking or thinking about boot cam is very very worth it.

I'm gonna get the taebo bootcamp as soon as I can. No firm today as DD woke up with a cold and boy I wish I could get something in as yesterday was a very naughty day.
 
Today was a Cathe total body push pull workout. I tried my darndest to stick to a all firm rotation, but I just couldn't do it. I started missing Cathe like you wouldn't believe. Plus with my new Taebo tapes.............

Oh well, I the important thing is that I'm still working out. I did squats and deadlifts with 50 pounds today :earseek: I bet I'm gonna feel that in the morning!!!! I'm just glad that this workout didn't include explosive lunges or I'd have :faint:
 
Well yesterday was a rest day. I was going to work out but I just got lazy and we played Star Wars Trivial pursuit all afternoon. I again didn't wake up early this AM to workout. Not sure how I'm going to get myself back into that habit. I have weigh in tonight but I still would like to do 30-45 minutes on the TM or maybe Ultimate Calorie Blaster. Tomorrow I am going to try again to get up early.

I can really feel an increase in built muscle since I started using the 15lbs for some exercises. Seeing the results is really making me want to work my arms more, lol!! I want arms like Stephanie, lol!
 

Morning, got in Ultimate Calorie Blaster with Stephanie. Didn't do the plank section as I was running late but it's a really good sweat. Allie tomorrow!

I'm so sorry I forgot to check in yesterday--it was an ABS with Allie morning :love: and today was Low Max with Cathe. I swear, that Low Max and the off-the-TransFIRMer leg work are doing great things for my legs--they're really tightening up! :cool1:

Yesterday I took ds9, his friend, and his friend's 14 year old brother to see Star Wars. Here's a hint that will serve you well in life: Don't wear a short skirt around a hormonal 14 year-old male--even if you are 38 years old. :rolleyes: Is it wrong of me to be secretly excited that he called me a "Hot Mom?" :scratchin :hyper:

rest day for me today. I am thinking of doing low max tomorrow. Kim that really is a killer workout. Who knew that working out with no weights can do such wonderful things to your body!!!!

Morning firmies, just got through with supercharged sculpting from BSS4 with Pam. This is a good I say 36 minute workout. There is a bonus stretch but I wanted to dis before work!
 
Hey everyone,

I'm so proud of myself. Its been a while, before the 1/2 OC marathon that I got up before work and worked out. Well I did it today. I even reset my alarm clock and laid back down but I manage to talk myself into it and got up. I'm so glad I did. I feel so good.

I did Supercharged Sculpting. I did it with 12's because when I started with the 15's my arms said no, lol. I started out purposely with 12's with lower body because I've felt like I haven't felt anything since using the 15's with lower. I'm thinking maybe I needed to go back to 12's and concentrate to feel like I was doing something.

The funny thing is that I didn't feel anything with the 12's either for upper or lower. Not sure why that is happening, but I think my arms were in heaven. Using the 15's made my arms feel like they do when I use 10's now. It felt so easy. Definately no muscle failure though like I get with the 15's. Anyone else experience that when you suddenly go back one that it feels like you aren't working anything?

I also plan on walking/running tonight. I may be doing a 5k on June 14th, so I want to get back into some type of training mode.


Kim- Hey you Hot Mama!! That was too funny!! I can't even imagine anyone calling me a hot Mama, lol! You must have been on cloud nine as far as feeling great about the compliment.

This morning was an oldie but a goodie, CAWT with Emily--we were "gettin' down with the Fanny Lifter!" :teeth: Oh, I am soooooo enjoying doing my FIRMs again after nearly a year of straight Cathe! :love:

Sheree', you are spot on about Low Max and how effective it is for the lower body! I've been doing it weekly and throwing in Legs & Glutes once in a while (for which I use no more than 20 pounds total), and my legs have never looked so toned. Then throwing in SCSc and the dips and curtsies of the box--man my legs feel it, and I only used a max of 30 lbs. You know, back in October when I started wearing jeans again after the summertime, I wondered why they were so tight in the thighs when they fit fine in the waist and I weighed the same. After reading a lot at the Ya Yas and VF, I finally figured out I had a body type that bulked with lower body heavy lifting. I was doing PLB with a 50 lb. barbell, and doing the rest of my Cathe circuits with 40-45 lbs. I finally stopped heavying up and now use nothing over 30 except for deadlifts (which I go heavy on to strengthen my weak lower back). It took a while to lose the bulk, but I'm really happy with the way my legs have shaped up. The hardest thing for me to have learned (and I think this goes for many others as well), is that different things work well for different people. I thought that if Cathe was using 45 for lunges, then I had to also, or I wouldn't see results--I never took into consideration that she's some sort of genetic anomoly! :teeth: Anyway, I'm so glad you're enjoying Low Max, too. I get more use out of this one than any other of my Hardcores.

Oh, I bet you could join me in the Hot Mom Club (I honestly had no idea I was even a member!!!) :banana: I really must keep this compliment in perspective, though, as I'm assuming that at age 14, a boy is pretty much attracted to anything with two X chromosomes! :rolleyes: And yes, I go through the same thing as you, with 12's and 15's as well. Some days 15's feel so good, some days I can barely make it through three reps with them, but then I find when I pyramid down, the 12's are too easy. :confused3 How is your injury? You seem to be really getting into the swing of things again, and I'm sure you're happy about that! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes Have a great run!

Sunday: I did my DH's weights workout and added some light cardio. My biceps and legs are still sore today!

Monday: I did 60 minutes of dancing and light weights.

Tuesday; Rest

Today: 60 minute walk/jog/sprint planned for this evening

Good afternoon all!!! Today I did Taebo Extreme instead. Lot's of lower body toning, but I must get in Low max. Love that workout!!!!

Kim, I missed the hot mamma comment. I know you were bursting!!!! I get that a lot. I've been asked out by high school guys. I'm 30 but I keep getting told that I look like I'm 16! My husband sayed that a coworker told him that I looked 13!!! My DH warns everybody before they meet me that I look young. Now since I've lost so much, people stop and stare at the two of us (it doesn't help that he looks like he's almost 40 and huge linebacker looking). I'm small, 4' 11" and now with the weight gone, really petite. Kids at my son's school are constantly asking me about my age and he's in 3rd grade!!!! The mom's at the school tell everyone that the teenage mom is working today. I'll take it though. The fact that I still look like I'm in high school is no small feat for a 30 year old!!!!!!

Mel, that's happened to me before. Unless I'm feeling weak (right around tom) and I use a lighter weight, I feel as if I haven't worked out. Muscles must be getting used to heavier weights even though I don't want to use them.

I still think we have to have a get together in North Carolina at the firm studio.

got in jiggle free abs this am. Between PMS and this bloody rain that won't end I'm a little blah. We haven't had a sunny day in a week and boy it's really depressing. But I do feel better even if I just got in a few minutes.

Yesterday, I did manage to get my 60 minute walk/jog/sprint in and I was already sore yesterday. Today, DD woke up at 5:15 a.m. (I went to bed at 1:00 a.m.) with a low grade fever. After I put her back to bed around 6:30 a.m., I did Body Sculpt: Lower Body and Upper Body Sculpt w/ Janet. Needless to say, I think I over did it and I am exhausted right now. :faint:

So, I am on my way to watch Regis and Kelly and I hope to catch a few minutes of sleep before DDs get up.

This morning was Allie's MCB + Abs! :love: I'm really sore from CAWT yesterday--I hadn't done it in a long time, and it really hit me in a lot of different places.

Sheree', you hot little pixie! Emily from The FIRM was 4'11, too, and now everytime I do one of her workouts, I'll be thinking of you. :) You must look absolutely incredible, and I bet you and your dh make quite the pair! :goodvibes I'm just an all-around Big Girl. I'm 5'6 with broad shoulders & hips and long arms & legs. I weigh 125-127, but from the front I just look very, very wide. I'd post a pic, but my hips would probably fill up the whole screen! :teeth:

Hi Tracy-Trace! Ooooooooo, running always makes me sooooooo sore, and I swear, I start feeling it just hours after I've finished (which is probably why I don't do it all that often!) :headache: I hope your little one's feeling better after some sleep and that you have a wonderful day. And a big Thank You for your PM yesterday--I was having a big pity party for myself, when I really should be happy for my friends' hard work and rewards. I'm very selfish sometimes and need to work on that. :rolleyes2 I'll miss them dearly though. Thanks for brightening my day--you *always* do! :hug:

Ds and I are off to the pool in a little bit. He's done with school and got his report card yesterday--straight A's all year! :cheer2:

I just received a phone call from a friend that my ds9's friend and classmate, Bailey, was in a very serious car accident on Tuesday night. She's in critical condition and on a respirator and continues to lose a lot of blood due to internal injuries. They've put out a request to the community to give blood for her, and as I'm O neg. (universal donor), I called to see if I could give since I was in Haiti last June. I have to wait a year, so I'm unable to give at this time. Bailey's sweet, intelligent, well-mannered, kind and so very loving. She's a little girl you'd be proud to have as your own. So please, if you are inclined to pray--whomever your God may be--please keep this darling little one in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you so very much. :angel:

It is strange that you said that about Emily. I liken my body to hers. Same build and everything. Her stomach looks much better than mine though. One too many stretch marks, however it's flattened out quite nicely. I'm also 125 pounds, but like Emily and Lisa (from the firm) I build lots of muscle and it slims me out a lot. I love doing Cathe for that reason!!!!

Tracy, I hope you get some rest!!!!! You are so much better than me. I hate running.

S&K'smom, that would be wonderful if we could. My DH has asked me if I wanted to go there.
 
Morning, got in a bit of taebo today as I slept late oh till the wild hour of 5:30am. But just that extra half hour I feel great and did much better in the workout. Tomorrow I should finally get to the Allie tape. Which I will need as DD has a party at Chuck E. Cheese so pizza and cake are on the menu.
