Good morning friends, being my obsessive self here is week 10.

Rest day was Saturday and Sunday was not motivated but I did walk to the mall with DD in carriage and bought two new tapes.

This am was upper body (one of the older tapes) and yowsa. But I do have to say men should not wear spandex. No offense but ummmm leave little to the imagination.

Hey FIRMies........

I didn't get to post much this weekend since my mom came back into town on Friday and we went to New Jersey till I had to take her to the airport on Sunday. I ate way too much since she came back into town and I have gained quite a few pounds. Back on track this morning and I will be going to WW's to face the music. I now have way more than the 2.5 pounds to get to goal, but thats ok. It was a conscious discission to eat what I did and not a big deal if it takes me a few extra weeks to reach goal. What matters is that I have learned to get back on track! I also exercised the whole time she was here, so at least I didn't fall back on that.

Saturday I did Super Body Sculpt (my first time doing this tape and I loved it. It was way harder than I thought. The lower body really made me sweat and was tough, the upper body portion was a great workout). I also did Sculpted Hips, Buns and Thighs (First time on this tape too. They need to add abs to the title. Half of the tape was abs. Great short workout. )

Sunday was my rest day (must have been my eat day as well.........I ate way too much).

Today I did FIRM Strength. I really love the FIRM Strength and FIRM Cardio tapes. Both are sculpt & Cardio and can be done back to back. That is my goal that I can line my heavy lift day up on the weekend.

S&K's mom- I agree, the spandex is not good for men! What new tapes did you get???

Have a great day everyone-

Hi Melanie I got the tape with master instructor Emily Walsh and one of the older ones Lord I can't think of the name it's the one with the girl with the long blonde hair. Oh my God I can't believe I have had a total brain meltdown!

Good morning FIRMies!

I can't believe this is week 10! I had a busy weekend but did manage to fit in cardio sculpt on Saturday with Allie and Sunday ab sculpt with Lisa Kay. This morning I did cardio sculpt blaster with Lisa Kay which is always fun and challenging. Weigh in day was yesterday and I'm down 1.5 pounds for a total of 53 pounds. Woohoo!!!!

I hope you all have a terrific Monday!

s&k'smom - thanks for getting us started with a new thread. You crack me up with the spandex comment!

Melanie - your work out routines always sound so intense that I know you'll be at your goal in no time!

Wow- I used a calendar in Microsoft Word to write down all the what workouts I have done each day since I started back in January. Luckily, there were only a few days that I couldn't find (between the committment thread, daily exercise thread and this FIRM thread, there were plently of opportunities for me to document what I did).

I am amazed at my progress when I put it on paper and how my workouts are really varied now that I have more videos. At first I did WATP's and then I added the FIRM, then I started doing only FIRM. I can see that I have definately improved in strength by the videos I did. WOW! I guess I came really far in these 3 months.

S&K's mom- Was it the original firm volume 1 with Susan Harris? She has long blonde hair, they call it body shaping basics.

Lisa- Woo hoo- 53lbs.........you are doing so fabulous.

Keep up the fabulous work girls.

Yes that's the one Melanie. I had every intention of doing the tape with Emily this am, but DS was restless and I didn't have the time to do it. So I did my ab machine for a few minutes and stretched which got me going. I really can't believe I was disappointed in not getting to work out. That's weird.

I did FIRM Cardio this morning. I still am amazed at how I actually get up at 5am to exercise. I didn't think I could get up early when I first started exercising. It's such a great feeling to have your work done for the day.

Today is day 2 of being on track. Its strange how when you eat good and are on track keeping it up is easy, but when you get off track and cheat getting back seems so hard. I had such intense feelings of wanting to eat whatever I wanted yesterday, even though I ate healthy things all day long. Today should be easier and even though we are going to TGI Friday's for kids night tonight, I have a totally OP salad planned.

S&K's mom- Have you done body shaping basics yet? I did it once and I think I liked it. I almost forget now. I want to do it again real soon now that I found ankle weights that I liked. I originally got ankle weights that you could adjust the weight. They were uncomfortable and slid around (like they were made for a mans leg, not a womans). I found some that were not adjustable, but I figured out for now I only need 2.5 pounds anyway. They are hand or ankle weights and very soft and comfortable. So now I can't wait to try that video again.

Have a good Tuesday everyone!

Melanie no I haven't done the tape yet, it's on the list for this week.

Good morning FIRMies!
Wow! You are all doing a great job with your workouts! Keep up the good work!!:Pinkbounc

Today, I did Complete Aerobics and Weight Training w/ Emily. I really love the ab section on this video. Once finished, I really feel like I have worked my abs. (Plus, it gives me a chance to lay down and relax after that tough workout.:faint:)

I've got a question: Since I did CA&WT today, can I do Upper Body work tomorrow? I'm not sure if CA&WT is considered Cardio or Sculpt and I think I read on one of our threads that you shouldn't do Sculpt two days in a row. Any info. is greatly appreciated!

Have a great day!

Good afternoon FIRMies!

This morning I did BSS1 body sculpt (upper body) and wasn't tired and didn't strain my neck like usual. It was weird that by the time we got to the stretching and cool down, I could have gone on longer. I've also added 3 more manly man push ups when I do that part of the routine for a total of 9! Yippee!! I'm feeling stronger each and every day I work out with the FIRM.

It sounds like everyone is doing great. Melanie - WTG on getting up at 5:00 am! I get up at 5:30 am, okay, it's really 5:40 am after I hit the snooze button but it's so worth it to know you've done something great for yourself FIRST THING!

Have a great Tuesday afternoon everyone!

FIRMIES!
I got up before the 5:30 alarm this AM & decided to use the time to do the complete Super Body Sculpt. I just love the "planks" in the Ab section & I miss it when I can only have time to fit in Upper & lower Body segments.
The weight loss that I reported earlier was not just a "fluke", I've maintained it & I attribute it to moving away from all Sculpting tapes, thanks to the info that I've learned from Melanie. I think that CA&WT was the best addition to my collection, even though I can only do it on the weekends & I still stumble alittle as I get down w/ the fanny lifter.
ZerasPride.....another 1.5 lbs...you're steady progress is wonderful. As Lisa Kaye says (at the end of one of her routines) Way-to-Go. I can't really type it the way she says it, but it always seems sincere!
s&k'smom
I always assume that the men-in-spandex in the earlier tapes are all male models..they just don't look real!
Have a happy & healthy day! SGG

Hi Firmies :jester:

Happy Weds. I know, just over the line here on the East coast but Tuesday is over.

I fell off the exercise wagon last week. First time in over 2 months that's happened. Didn't do any exercise at all from last Weds. to Sun. I just couldn't bring myself to pop in the tapes.
I got back on the wagon on Monday with 15 minutes of CS and then BS- Upper body. And it felt really good. Even the break felt really good. There were times last week when i thought my upper arms were burning all the time even though they hadn't picked up weights in a little while. Seems strange since i am still only using 2lb dumbbells, but that's how they felt.

Anyway, my little exercise vacation is over, and I'm back on the wagon. I am considering doing AS every night b4 i wind down with some computer time. I'm getting better at it every week it seems and sometimes I feel like i could do it every day. So I'm asking if you think i should.

To those of you who get up at 5am and 5:30am to exercise. You have my total complete admiration:worship: i used to get up at 5am to go to work. Never again. Next time y'all see me up 5am its because i'll be nursing a baby LOL

Hope everybody has a great Firming week.

It's a conspiracy. DS was up again this am. So I had to postpone my new Emily tape. Buttttttt the big news is instead of just saying forget it I put in the body sculpt blast with Nancy T. and did it plus a few mins of abs. This is a big deal as I would usually use it as an excuse not to do anything.

So glad your back on the wagon Octoberbride but please don't be hard on yourself. I believe that we all need a break from it once in a while.

Oh and I've decided that I want to take Nancy Tucker (the really skinny one) to 50's PTC for the meatloaf. I'm so jealous that a woman of her age (isn't she fabulous) with a waist like that.

Can't believe there's only been 1 post here today. What happened? Did everybody else decide to go on a Firm vacation?

Anyhow, I am doing really well this week since i finished my little break. I did BS today. About 13 minutes of Lower Body and all of Upper Body workouts. I'm doing better on Upper Body too. I'm ready to move up to 5lb weights for some of the exercises, so this weekend I'm gonna pick up a pair. And next week I'll see how they feel. I know I'm definitely gonna use em for the floorwork when i'm on my back. May use them earlier too, will have to see.

And it looks like I'm gonna complete my 100 day challenge on Saturday. That'll be 100 days munchy free for me. WOW

Octoberbride that is fantastic. I'm so proud of you.

This am was abscult as DS got up again but it is going to be a couple of beautiful days around here so I'll be able to get some walking in.

Have a firmie day everyone.

FIRMIES!
Haven't been around much...I hate it when work interferes with the WISH Bd. Yesterday AM was Ab Sculpt. It's funny how when I was doing that routine regularly, it started to feel "not challenging", but after a week plus, I felt like it was a good, albeit short, workout.
This AM was Cardio Sculpt Blaster and tomorrow will be a planned off-day. Youngest DS is still on the bus, but oldest DS is taking his road test (YIKES!) and DS, DH & I have to meet the instructor at 8 AM. Then I have to drive DS to school, so he is eligible to play in his BB game in the afternoon.
Hope to do two long, challenging routine this weekend, but we'll see...
Hope everyone is having a happy & healthy day! SGG

Good morning!
I did Cardio Sculpt Blaster and the Upper Body section of Total Sculpt from BSS1.

sueg~ Good luck to your DS on his driving test!::yes::

Cotoberbride03~ Congrats on the 100 day challenge! Just a couple more days now....:teeth: :Pinkbounc

s&k's mom~:rotfl: I loved your comment about taking Nancy to 50s PTC! Thanks for the laugh.::yes:: That meatloaf sounds really good right now.

Lisa~ Way to go with those push-ups! I tried a few the other day and all I can say is whew! Thanks for inspiring me to try them! :wave2: By the way, are you enjoying this beautiful weather? I plan on taking the girls on a walk to the library today. It's about a 4 mile walk total. Woohoo!:teeth:

Melanie~ Way to go! You are doing an awesome job! Isn't it wonderful when we can see the progress we have made? ::yes::

Everyone is doing a great job! Keep up the good work!

Tracy:wave2:

Hi guys!

I hope you all are having a great afternoon!

Tracy - glad you tried the push-ups. They are killers but I'm sure effective. I haven't gotten out in the nice weather yet. I'm stuck and work and didn't go out at lunch today.

sueg - your schedule sounds so hectic! I love cardio sculpt blaster. It's on my rotation for Mondays and Wednesdays. Isn't Lisa Kay just great?

Octoberbride03 - I enjoy doing the body sculpt. Especially upper body. That's my favorite. I'll be doing BS upper body in the morning. You are doing great adding the weights, keep up the great work! Congrats too on the 100 day cheat free goal!!! I'm so proud of you. I have to say the hardest part is starting back over again at 1 but then you get to build back up to 100 again!!!! WTG for you!!!!!

s&k'smom - I hope you were able to get either your FIRM work out or your walk in today. It's so hard sometimes to find time to work out when you have little ones.

This morning I did BSS1 ab sculpt and followed Libby with the beginner moves because it's techincally my rest day and I don't have to work out as hard on my rest day :)!

Everyone is doing a fabulous job! Let's keep it up.

Hi everyone,

I didn't get to post yesterday either.

Yesterday I did Fat Blasting Cardio and Sculpted Hips, Buns & Thighs in the morning and I did 2.5 miles on the treadmill doing 5 minute running/walking intervals.

Today I did Vol 1 Body Sculpting Basics. The floor work on that tape is a killer. My legs were burning so bad!

Today I had lost all of the 4.8 I gained while my mom was in town, so it must have been mostly water weight although I ate a LOT while she was here (lots of fattening stuff).

Lisa- Glad you took it easy on your rest day. Its so hard to not make yourself workout once you get into the habit of not doing it.

Tracy- Is the upper body portion in Total sculpt set up for just doing UB only? Great idea, I would have never though of that with that tape.

Sue- I agree about hating when work interferes with WISH. Thats what happened to me yesterday.

S&K's mom- hope you got outside to enjoy the day!

Octoberbride- Glad you got back on that Exercise wagon! You are really improving on Body Sculpt. I am so proud of you!! Definately start challenging yourelf with the 5's, you can always pyramid down during a set if it gets to hard. Just pay attention to form!! I just bought 12's yesterday, and I used them for the first time today for a few exercises. I start with the ones that are easiest for me to do, and then gradually as I get stronger I do more exercises with them. I also pyramid down alot when moving to a new weight. Try 2 or 3 reps with the new one, and don't feel bad about rewinding to pyramid down!

Oops! Sorry Mel! I meant to say I did the Upper Body section from Body Sculpt from BSS1. Sorry..
