Firm/Cathe/Taebo, Let's get it started!!!!

I planned to run today, the only day this week with no rain in the forecast. But I was so tired and sore this morning, I decided to take a rest day. My throat hurts a lot too. I hope I'm not getting sick.

Imax 3 for me this morning. It's tough, but I don't like it as much as I like 2!!!! Oh well, at least the workout is done.................

This morning I ran 4.6 miles in the rain. My knee was hurting during the last mile, slowing me down considerably. But I'm too stubborn to walk.
 
Hi all! Muscle Endurance for me today. I went a bit lighter on the legwork; my knee was still bothering me a little. I bought a club step yesterday! I can't wait to try it out tomorrow. I've been using the transfirmer for all of Cathe's workouts and I finally decided to take the plunge and buy the full size step.
 
Norma, great minds think alike. That is exactly what I had been thinking that I was going to go look for this week. I've been using the transfirmer too, but want the club step!!!!

Hardcore extreme workout #3 this morning. My legs were so tired from all the work earlier this week, I barely made it through this one. It definately was not 100%, but I made it. Rest day tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This morning was IMAX2. I have a cold, so it seemed a little harder than usual. I loved doing the workout on my new club step, though it was a bit harder covering the length of the step with the straddle hops in Interval 9.

I sure miss all my FIRMies!

Today I got back in action and did 65 minutes of the Biggest Loser DVD. It was actually way harder than I thought it was going to be. I really tried to give it my all. My legs were actually sore from all the kicking. Tomorrow I may try to do a FIRM sculpt as well as some cardio (either Biggest Loser or Treadmill).

Sorry to hear Kimmie is MIA. Kimmie I hope everything is ok!!
 
Well, I am going to look at her rotation and order some of the DVD's. But, I want to be able to rotate running into the rotation. Can anyone recommend some of the DVD's? I want a more weight based workout, rather than cardio. I also want it be advanced/challenging. I think I might order two or three.
 
disteach1, are you talking about Cathe??? If so, all of her videos are advanced and challenging. Bootcamp/muscle endurance, pyramid upper and lower body, muscle max, any of the gymstyle workouts, legs and glutes is a great lower body workout, only it comes with her kickboxing which is an awesome workout, and maximum intensity strength (again this one comes in a bundle) I just got it last week and haven't done it yet :( This is most of her weight training videos. She encourages running and she usually incorporates them in her rotations. I hate to run, so I don't do that and substitute another cardio.

OK, today was hardcore extreme workout #2. I couldn't do those stinking 400 lunges or 500 situps, so I'm calling it a day!!!!!!
 
Today I did Bootcamp. I may never be able to those darn terminator squat thrusts, but I keep trying.

It should take you to a page on Cathe's forums that categorizes all her workouts and ranks them based on intensity. If you're looking for a total body workout, I would recommend Muscle Max or Muscle Endurance (which comes with Bootcamp, a circuit workout). If you're looking for a split body workout, I don't have any recommendations because I don't own any yet. I just ordered Pyramid Upper and Lower Body.

mel, how did the Biggest Loser DVD compare in intensity to the Firm?

What are some good Cathe's to start with? Possibly looking to buy 2. I'm either going to buy some Cathe's or get Jillian Michael's (biggest looser) set. I've heard she is pretty tough, but people either love or hate her. I know I still would like to get Core Max, but I'm not sure that would be one I want now. I wouldn't mind a good fat burning cardio tape? Course I love good sculpting tapes (actually sculptings my fav when I do it).

I haven't worked out much since October so maybe I'm just out of shape but the low intensity 25 minute section had me huffing and puffing 5 minutes into it. The jumping jacks (a ton of them) did me in. I'm still sore 2 days after doing it (65 minutes worth). Yesterday I was too sore to work out. Compared to FIRM it just different. No step just moving on the cardio sections. Bob really pushes you to step it up and keep at it (while lovingly telling you if you can't to just stay where you are). The high intensity cardio was a lot of football and tire drills. Very different than the firm so its hard to compare. I like it for a change of pace especially since I haven't worked out much lately.
 
Melanie, I say Low max and Imax2/Cardio and weights. Talking about burning fat and having fun at the same time, these two tapes will do it. They are my favs in terms of step. If you like kickboxing, try Kick, Punch and Crunch, that is a darned good workout!
 
I did the 3 combos in Step Blast and the hi-lo premix of Step, Jump & Pump. I'm still fighting this cold, so exercising is a bit of a struggle right now.

melanie, for a good fat burning cardio workout, I agree with sheree' about LowMax. It's a great low impact sweat fest. IMAX2 is a tough interval workout that will improve your cardio capacity; it's something most people have to work up to. Cardio & Weights is a good intermediate circuit workout alternating cardio step segments with upper body weight segments. It's not too tough and not too easy. For sculpting or weight work only, I would suggest Muscle Max. It's a good total body workout that you can make as easy or tough as you like by varying the weights. Good luck with your decision.
 
Good afternoon everyone. I did muscle max today. I love this workout!!! Talk about a good workout!!

I brought my new step today. I didn't realize how much longer than the firm's it was!!! I can't wait to use it for Imax and Lowmax tomorrow!
 
Hello ladies. When I opened the step, there was a 2 part dvd in it. Basic step/Cardio and weights. I have them already. If someone wants them, pm me!
 
Late post today. I had to attend a tax class this morning, so I didn't get to exercise until mid-afternoon. Great minds thinking alike again sheree'; I also did Muscle Max. I took a short break, then did a 30-minute workout that came with the stability ball I got for Christmas. I was laughing so hard as I was rolling around on the ball.
