I recently mentioned this in another thread, but I am very committed to seeing the Fireworks at DLR on Friday (we are there from April 5th to April 9th).

I somehow never saw them as a kid or young adult, but I was really excited to see them my last two trips (2006 and 2010). In 2006, after reading all the tips and tricks, my husband and I sat right down in the middle of the hub 90 minutes early with our 6-year-old son. He eventually fell asleep, and it was very cold, and we were exhausted, and riiiggghhhht before they were about to start, the announcer guy's voice, which is usually so happy, came on, sounding sad...."We're sorry, but the show has been cancelled tonight due to wind......"

Huh? What the...? What are you talking about? How disappointing! We sadly trudged out of the park and never saw them on that trip.

Well, in the fall of 2010, I was GOING to see them. We found yet another wonderful spot 90 minutes (possibly even 2 hours) early. We found a cool bench over by the entrance to Adventureland, I think. We sat and sat and sat. And eventually, we started hearing rumors from kind cast members. And then finally...

Sad announcer guy's voice comes on: "We are so amaaaaazingly, terribly sorry, but, due to wind, you will simply never be able to see the fireworks at Disneyland in your lifetime."

Seriously???? We trudged out again, and oddly, the three of us were all channeling Eeyore in that moment.

So here we are. Going on Friday. I've got a plan. For the first time, we are going to be there for four nights, so I have an extra night for an evening show, in case something sad happens. Even so, I would really like to see the fireworks on Friday night.

After my incredibly long tale, my question is this: do I really need to get there 90 minutes early? I want a great spot, but it doesn't have to be the very best spot of all time. I want to see Tinkerbell (and I still don't really know what that means)! Is she a projection? Is she a weird little animatronic critter that flits about? Is she an awesomely cool firework thing that only Disney can create? No, don't tell me. I want to find out on Friday!

So, back to my question. Do I really need to waste 90 minutes of our lives? I think my family is just assuming they are going to be cancelled, so 90 minutes will be pushing it for them. When you all go, are you able to find a nifty spot 60 minutes early? 45 minutes early? Please say yes! :) Where do we go?

This time of year 45 minutes to an hour is fine.

Thanks. Oops. I just realized I posted this in the wrong place; I couldn't find my thread anywhere and the found it in the community board. Sorrry about that.

You don't have to wait much at all honestly. When you get to DLR find the water fountains that are near the Information Booth at the end of MS, as you walk towards the castle the IB is on the left. When it's about 30 minutes before fireworks wander over to that water fountain you found earlier and wait there, you'll have a really good view and it's never really crowded there at all. :) We've done this multiple times and never had a problem.
