Fireworks Viewing

Where in DW is the best place to view fireworks if you are not going into the park on the Fourth? Does anyone know if you can view from the roof of the Contemporary?

Only if you have a Priority Seating time at the California Grill restraurant at the top of the Contemporary Resort. There's a public observation deck lower down the CR, but keep in mind that there's going to be tons of people with the same idea as you. The beach at the Poly is also another good vantage point, but it's my understanding that unless you're staying there or are eating at Ohana you'll likely be outta luck. The beach area there is for resort guests only and I've heard that the 4th of July is one of the only times that they enforce that policy... again, because of the masses of people wanting a view of the MK fireworks that evening.

No they don't. We will no longer stay at the Polynesian over the
4th because of it. Last year was the worst it has ever been. People took any chair that wasn't nailed down, no matter whose patio it was on. People carted off pool towels by the dozen and left piles of trash all over the beach. I didn't see one person asked for ID and trust me it was pretty obvious that the majority hadn't eaten at any of the restaurants or luau. They started camping out around 4 and enjoyed the pool. Who needs swimsuits...they swam in their clothes.

Wow, sorry to hear that. I thought I remembered talk of enforcement of the policy in a general thread about the Poly beach. I wonder if that mess happens there every year???
