Fireworks from BLT

I'm going to be staying at Bay Lake Tower in a couple of weeks, and was wondering: what would be the best time to head to the Top of the World Lounge to see the fireworks from MK?

I know you need to be a DVC member to get it--I'm not the official member in the family, but am staying on points, so I assume it will show up on my card.

What has been your experience with the lounge--how is the view? Drink prices? Is it too crowded to be worth it? Would love some insight!

I stayed on my parents points, with them in another room and my KTTW still had DVC member guest on it so I was allowed up to the top viewing deck. We went up maybe 10 min ahead of the fireworks and it was pretty deserted. We were able to stand right next to the railing.

We never went into the lounge so I'm no help on the prices.

They may ask to see the blue member card in addition to your room card. Just want you to be prepared in case you cannot access the lounge.

if you are not a DVC member, there is a risk that you won't get the benefit. if not, there is a viewing area at the CR right after you walk across the bridge from the BLT.

but the lounge is rarely crowded...they probably should relax the rules a bit...

Drinks are an average of $10.00. Great view. I usually go up about 20 mins prior. In the winter the view is great from the inside when you sit at the high tables near the windows.
