What happens if you don't want to go to a Disney Park during the day but just want to go in the evening for Fireworks? Do you just make a morning reservation for that park and turn up when you are ready?
A theme park reservation is for the day regardless of what time you actually intend to first enter the park. Yes, you will need a theme park reservation to go for fireworks if you do not intend to enter any other park that day.

If it helps to remember, it's not a "morning" reservation it's a reservation for the "day". As in, entire day.
Doesn't matter when you show up, or how long you are there, if you plan to tap in the turnstile at any point during the operating hours for that day, you need a reservation
This isn't related to hopping. That's a different subject all together with a different set of rules.
Keep in mind you'll be using a full day's admission no matter what time you enter the park. There are places you can watch the fireworks and not enter the park - TTC, Polynesian, GF, CR/BLT.

Yep, that's it. Just remember that if you have a park reservation at say Magic Kingdom and want to hop to Epcot for Harmonious that you have to make sure you go to MK before heading to Epcot, even if it's after 2pm and even if you have a park hopper ticket.
