I love fireworks. In fact my whole family loves fireworks. We will be at WDW from 12/10/04 - 12/16/04. We'd like to see as many fireworks displays as possible.

Now I've done a little research and I know that MK closes at 6pm at this time of year. So it doesn't seem possible that we will get to see fireworks at MK. But on Dec. 10th, 12th, 14th and 16th it will reopen for MVMCP. Does anyone know if the MVMCP includes a fireworks show? We are staying at the GF and theoretically we should be able to see the fireworks if there are any from the beach at GF, right?

Now am I right in thinking Epcot has the Illuminations fireworks every night? They close at 9:30 which seem late enough to have fireworks. Can we see Illuminations from the GF too?

Now how about MGM? They close at 7 pm. Fantasmic is a fireworks show as well isn't it? Do they show that in December?

Thanks for your help.

Epcot has Illuminations Every night so you will be able to see that during your stay...

MK will not have fireworks for Day guest (durning normal operating hours) on December 10, 12, 14 or 16 because they close early for MVMCP however they DO have fireworks for the party itself so yes you will be able to see those from the Beaches at the Grand Floridian... Also on December 11, 13 and 15 the "Should" be open late enough to run Wishes for day guests...on the nights that they do not have MVMCP they usually stay open late enough to at least do the fireworks (just keep checking for the December schedule...they have always had them in the past).

MGM... not sure on this one... you will have to wait and see the schedule...

You maybe able to see some high fireworks from Illuminations at GF (far in the distance), but you need to be inside Epcot to really see it.

Fantasmic should be everynight between 6:00 and 7:00. You would need to be inside MGM to see it.

MK should show Wishes on Saturday night around 9:00, other non-MVMCP nights at 7:00. They have a special version during MVMCP, which includes an extra ending. Last year it was at 9:15 during MVMCP. I saw the MK fireworks one night from the marina dock at GF. We were in Conch Key, so I walked right outside. The boat dock would also be a good spot. I'm not sure about the beach, that is more on the other side.

You'll be able to at least view fireworks from the MK every night on your vacation.

The reason the parks close earlier then is because of MVMCP. They have "extra-special" fireworks on those evenings.

I recommend a view from the Polynesian for the nights you aren't at the MVMCP in MK.

We had LVC last year during this time, and the finale was so tremendous it covered our entire field of vision. It literally "lit up the world".

You won't just have firworks that week, you have stupendous fireworks that week. I remember wanting the same thing.

Rest assured you will not be dissappointed. Check the calendar to confirm what I said about MVMCP and go see it at least one night.

Jealous, but wishing you clear skies and no lines....

Wishes is really the only "fireworks" show of the three shows you mentioned. It really is made more special with the accompanying music and narration. I know it is piped in to some places outside the park (the TTC and the beach at the Polynesian mabye) but the best view is from right on Main Street inside the Magic Kingdom.

Illumiantions is mostly a light and pyrotechnics show on the lake in the WorldShowcase at Epcot. There are a few high flying fireworks but most of the action takes place directly on the lake. You can't really see or appreciate the show from anwhere but inside the park (IMO). You only get the full effect from viewing right on the lake. There is music narration and a floating globe with thousands of television screens providing some visual effects as well.

Fantasmic is more like a stage show with characters and I don't think you'll be able to see anything but some glowing in the sky from outside the MGM studios park. Again, this can really only be appreciated from viewing inside the amphitheatre at the park.

Try to see them all. Enjoy!
