We have CG booked for 7:40pm and I was hoping we would be able to watch the fireworks from there but I have just realised that they are not on until 10pm on that evening. So it is very likely depending on what time we are seated that we would have finished our meal and would have been moved on by the time they start. Is there anywhere else in the hotel that is a good spot for watching them?

California Grill? I think you have a good chance you will still be at your table just before 10 pm. Even if you have finished though, unless they have a new policy I haven't heard about, they will still allow you to watch the fireworks from there if you have eaten in the restaurant that day.

I nearly booked it for myself and DD but thought she may enjoy the dining experience more in a couple of years. So you will have to enjoy it twice as much for the both of us! :goodvibes

Chances are you will just about be finishing your meal.
It is a busy place so expect to be seated later than 7:40pm, our meal took 2 hours with no starter and no alcohol they don't rush(even though we asked them to)
Even if you were lucky and got out before 10pm you can hang around out on the viewing area or anyone thats eaten there that evening is allowed back in to see the fireworks.

I just finished writing and see Lee has posted same info so just duiplicating what she said:goodvibes

Thanks, when I booked our ADR's I had in my head that we woulkd be seated within 30-45mins of the times. We normally take about 2hours on table services meals but I thought maybe we wouldnt if we didnt have a stater etc. Good to hear we can still watch from there, I think we'll prob just grab a few drinks and hang about then.

I remember reading in a trip report that if you don't have a table with a good view they do allow you to get up and go watch the fireworks from the viewing area, although that would obviously be a bit annoying if you were in the middle of your main course when they began!!

Am taking my boyfriend there for a special treat on our first night at Disney, he knows we're going for a meal but has no idea where :goodvibes

They ask what you want to do when its getting close to fireworks time. They don't serve food if you want to watch it. We were asked but we wanted the food (we usually eat at about 7pm and it was 10pm) it still didn't arrive til after the fireworks had done, this annoyed me as we could have gone out and watched but just about everything annoyed me that night, I know many love CG but it was one of the worst dining experiences for us. I said I would never goto another signature again but we went to Yachtsman Steakhouse last month and that was totally the opposite, one of the best dining experiences ever.

If you have an early ADR you can go for a wonder round after your meal and then before the fireworks you can just show your receipt at the podium and they take you back up :thumbsup2

Sounds like you will be fine at 7.40 but we have done CG and watching the fireworks from there was good but this year we watched Wishes from the beach at the Poly and it was much better, the view across the lake is really nice, you are looking straight ahead at the castle (CG is off to the side) they also pipe in the music.

I agree timing and wise I am sure you will be fine, our meal last year took about 2.5 hours (we were quite leisurely though!). I wanted to go out and watch the fireworks but they brought the food over. We had a window seat and the fireworks from inside were AMAZING! Not sure if it is always like this or it because we were there during MNSSHP night with the bigger fireworks but it sounded and looked they were going off right outside the Contemporary :rotfl:

This is on my list to do another night :goodvibes We'll being watching the fireworks a few times

If you walk out past the gift shop MK side near the BLT entrance you can watch from the stairwells of the tower, not the most romantic of places but v. popular as we recently discovered. You need to go up a couple of floors to avoid the monorail track :thumbsup2
