I will be at BWV in April for a conference. One of the evenings we are there i would love to do dinner then head up to the TOWL for a drink and fireworks.

1. - do they only allow those on my room reservation to go up? There might be some fellow co-worker but they will probably be staying at the S & D

2. More importantly -- what would be a good restaurant to eat at which would make an easy trek - either monorail or walking to head over to the TOWL? I know there is the California grill but I don't care much for the menu. I am thinking if there is something else at VGF, Poly or the BLT/contempory. Is the WLV too difficult to get to the TOWL

3. IF you suggest a particular restauant -- what time would you recommend in order to get to the TOWL for fireworks? I am trying to figure out the schedule -- it looks as though Wishes will be at 10:00pm

Technically it's only DVC members and guests on their room staying onsite that are allowed. What the practice currently is I don't know - ie, if they check everyone.

CR also has the Wave which is nice. It's an easy, short boat ride from WL over to CR so no problems with transportation. At WL you have Artist Point which is a nice restaurant or if you want more casual there is Whispering Canyon. Contrary to it's name there's not a lot of whispering going on though! FW would also be a possibility - it has a buffet at Trails End. Poly - I like Kona Cafe there. And VGF has several dining options.

I'd likely plan on dining around 7 to 7:30 at the latest just to be certain to allow enough time to get to TOTWL unless dining at CR. Since you can walk over from there then 8PM should be fine.

I have two reservation for the Wave coming up. These are on days that we will be heading to TOW afterwards. I and my friends all like the menu.

There are several good options at the Grand Floridian. Narcoosie's is a great restaurant which overlooks the lake. You can see and hear the fireworks show from there, but you could also hop on the boat, go to the Magic Kingdom, and walk over to BLT. The Grand Floridian Cafe is an option if you want cheaper food and want to get in and out very quickly.

Another vote for the wave. You would be 5 minutes from TOTWL, give yourself 30 minutes prior to fireworks time or go earlier for an after dinner drink.

We've got the same basic plan for Christmas Eve. We chose Citricos at Grand Floridian; we have reservations there about 6 pm. That should give us plenty of time to get to TotWL for Wishes at 10 pm via monorail to CR then walk over to BLT. We've built in an extra buffer due to the holiday. If it was another time of year, I'd probably aim for 7 pm dinner ressies.

We knew we wanted a signature restaurant, somewhere on the monorail line. First runner up was Narcoossee's; Citrocos' menu swayed us to choose them. For a less festive occasion, we probably would have chosen Kona.
