FINISHED 3/28 My Happily Ever After & "Treating" around the world

Welcome back! :goodvibes It's good to see you planning another trip. I just decided to go ahead & go in Sept no matter what. I've already paid for airfare, MNSSHP & the hotel & tickets are on the credit card, so we are going. The outlook is somewhat better on the job front, we may be in business for another year so I have time to pay for my trip before the ax falls. I don't know what I would do if I didn't have this trip to look forward to....probably start planning another one for 2011, when I can afford it again.
Take care & post when you can.

After taking a couple of beach pictures and wiggling my hand around to watch my ring sparkle, we stroll down the beach, watching a bridal party take pictures near the wedding pavillion. Finally, we make it to the Grand Floridian Cafe for our dinner.

We promptly are seated. The waitress comes to take our orders and I gush "OMG can we have a bottle of champagne? I just got engaged!" Our waitress gets a HUGE grin. "Really, when?" :lovestruc

"Mmmmm, five minutes ago"

Our waitress and the manager came out and brought us complimentary glasses of champagne

Anyway, we had several waitresses and other staff come by to gush over my ring and the proposal. It was very sweet :cheer2:
HPIM1881.jpg

Since Josh & I have a no phone in the parks policy, I wouldn't be able to call anyone until we got back that night. It was nice to gush to SOMEONE.

Dinner was amazing... Crabcakes for an appetizer,
HPIM1875.jpg

broccoli & cheese soup,
HPIM1876.jpg

and that delicious Shrimp & Prosciutto Penne Pasta.
HPIM1878.jpg

For dessert we had fruit and chocolate fondue (we had attacked it already)
HPIM1883.jpg

So we whisper sweet nothings about a Honeymoon at the Grand Floridian and wander through the gorgeous lobby holding hands. We listen to the lovely piano playing.

Then we charge up stairs and jump on the monorail! COME ON. :rotfl: I may have just gotten engaged but I am in Disney World! It was all absolutely delicious, and perfect and lovely and beautiful; but in all reality I want to get back to MK! I want some bride minnie ears :bride: I want to kiss Josh under fireworks. I want to show him how much fun and how exciting Philhar-Magic is...

Will we get to watch the fireworks and the Philhar-Magic? Will Disney really fulfill the promise of a year of a Million Dreams?

Welcome back! How nice you got free champagne. The fondue looks really good!

Yay :) I want to go back for the Christmas or Halloween party or food & wine, but Josh says I have to stop wasting my money on disney. My job is miserable I have no friends in this town. The only happy times I have are planning Disney. I dont like wedding planning, I just like Josh :) and marrying Josh! Anyways, I have been transferring $100 a week for my Disney Vacation Club fund!

Welcome back! How nice you got free champagne. The fondue looks really good!

Thanks :) I <3d the fondue! Any recommendations for next week of stuff not to miss?

I just found your TR and I love it! I have to say your ring is alomst exactly like mine. Its so pretty!!! Congrats! When is your wedding?!

My heart belongs to a future army officer! My wedding is next May 16th and we are going on our Disneymoon May 17-23, than the caribbean somewhere for a week... My dad's using his timeshares to trade for it :)

When's your wedding?

What a great TR! I can't wait to read more. And what a fabulous ring! DF did a great job on it! It's so beautiful. He's definitely a keeper ;). Congrats!

I'm interested to read your final analysis of SOG. I know it doesn't have what's considered the typical "Disney Magic" (that said, you still shouldn't get rudeness :headache: ), but for me the Magic of SOG is getting to go to WDW 4x as often as we'd be able to if we stayed somewhere else (plus being right by the MK with easy access to a monorail, a great view from every huge room, etc etc). We're the second to highest price bracket (DH is a Major in the USAF) and it's ridic how inexpensive and affordable the whole thing still is- for instance, when we go in Sept our room is $160/day for a poolside room and that includes breakfast and dinner- I mean, you just cannot beat that and the room is huge by Disney standards (about 455 sf). No matter what time of year our poolside room is always $129- whether it's Christmas Eve or June 1. Now that makes my heart chock full of Magic  . We've been to SOG so many times now that I feel like I'm coming home as soon as I walk through the doors. Plus, it feels so great to be around other military. So many people that stay there are on break or just back from a tour to the sandbox and I know the time they're getting with their family at WDW is utterly priceless and irreplaceable. It really warms my heart that they get the opportunity that they might not otherwise have. Plus, it's nice to have a conversation with someone without having to explain all the acronyms :p.

But...if you miss the more typical "Disney Magic" I totally, totally get that. As long as you're there having fun, it's all good :hippie: .

Our wedding is June 6 next year. Our disneymoon is June 8-12. We were gonna stay longer but wanted a couple of days to rest up at home before we both had to go back to work!

We are not staying at Shades of Green because we wanted the package deal so we knew most was paid for before we leave! Otherwise we would have stayed at SOG!

Thanks so much, I think so too!

ooooo Major!
I know but for 777 a year (the cost of SOG) would be MF for 160 Disney points. If I could ever saveup to buy those points, the MF would cost the same as our "Cheapie" vacations!!! A girl can dream!

I got back from Disney on the 17th and typed a couple paragraphs to save so by the time i write THAT TR it won't be all forgotten. I also uploaded ALL of the May pics up to photobucket! Unfortunately, I forgot my digi camera this past trip, and the park tix! Oy vey! :headache:

We leave Grand Floridian, with Josh wistfully gazing at the reservations desk.
HPIM1888.jpg

So we head off to MK via the monorail and I am bouncing off the walls. I am about to go back to Magic Kingdom and in a MUCH better mood. I had the most romantic proposal imaginable in the happiest place on Earth. Completely in love with my future hubby, I snuggle closer to him and watch my Castle come closer to my view. We are here!

HPIM1891.jpg

We go to the front desk at MK and some CMs really work magic for us. They cross out the Married on Just Married! buttons and write Engaged. Next they suggest we pick up some sweet bride/groom ears. Finally, they give us a bride and groom Mickey and Minnie stuffed animals. Adorable. And they sing here comes the bride. We go to buy the ears. Josh's big fat head only fits into the normal black Mickey ears, so that's what he gets. I get to feel all bridal in my Minnie ears! :bride:

I want to ride the Pooh ride because I am not kidding when I say it makes me giggle. We take some pictures while waiting in line because we are so bored.

HPIM1896.jpg

Next up, PhilharMagic!

HPIM1904.jpg

Josh falls in love with Philharmagic, completely. Finally, we check and it's about 25 minutes to Wishes. We hop on IASW because the wait is 5 minutes. Unfortunately, we freeze in the final room. My ears are about to fall off if I ear IASW one more time. My watch says 10:01 PM. Joshs is stroking my hand, because I am about to cry. I have NEVER seen Wishes and I want to see it SO badly.

We SPRINT out of the boat the second we can and run outside in time to hear, SNOW WHITE - I'm wishing...someday, my prince will come

No request is too extreme,

ARIEL - I wish I could be part of that world

PETER PAN - I wish...we'd never have to grow up. Off to Neverland, ha-ha

When you wish upon a star,
As dreamers do."

I burst into tears. Here I am in the most magical place on Earth and my Prince has come and I am a part of that world and I don't ever want to grow up! I want to stay forever. Josh kisses me and says "I think I love Disney too".

I sob harder and couldn't be happier.

Once I wipe my tears and calm down, I have to go to the bathroom. On my way there, a CM says Congratulations Princess. I get so excited that I got called Princess. Once I'm at the bathroom, I know it must be true and make Josh take this picture:
HPIM1906.jpg

Next we leisurely stroll out. All I am thinking is that I don't ever want this night, this day, this week, this LIFE to end. My life is so brilliant and I am so lucky. Here's an awkward castle picture on the way out from Adventureland.
HPIM1909.jpg

And again:
HPIM1910.jpg

It's packed in the park and I'm not in the mood to deal with screaming children. I convince FH to stop and get treats at the Main Street Bakery. These delicious treats are what would convince us that the DDP is the way to go next time! Don't interrupt me when I'm mowing down junk food.
HPIM1912.jpg

We take the monorail back to SOG and call to room service to ask for wine glasses to celebrate. They tell us Sorry. Josh begs and works some magic and soon enough we have our glasses! :wizard:
HPIM1922.jpg

Now its time to go to bed because we have an early day at EPCOT. I swear the rest of this TR will go faster, its just that my engagement day was so special and I didn't want to do it an injustice by not reporting every gory detail!

I hate this recession stuff :( CW4DW... You were in danger of lay offs? It's been a couple months, where are you from?

I am in Dallas, TX... and yes I was, but luckily missed it this last time! What they do here is send out 60 day letters (usually) giving you a chance to try and find something else inside the company, but if you can't in those 60 days then you are off payroll... It isn't a fun time especially when you know people who are getting letters and having to deal with all of that.

It's terrible! The hospital I work at has had a low census and they closed my floor for a while during orientation. Now that I'm on the floor alone ( I just graduated in May) I feel less than prepared. I just got offered a final interview at a hospital with a six month orientation and a comprehensive education. They called me, said they were impressed with me back in April but they were on a hiring freeze and would like me to join their October nursing graduate class, pending interview. It was so out of left field and after how unhappy I've been, I agreed to interview on Wednesday...

If I get the job, I have to worry about when to give notice. I dont want to do it too early and lose my health coverage/paycheck!

The button's so cute! I'm glad they were able to work some Magic for you. It's good that you got to see Wishes. I love the music and the opening lyrics. I listen to it at school all the time...it takes me away from the craziness and reminds me of being there.

That cookie thing you're eating looks really good!

I can't wait to read more. (And about your recent trip! I hope it went well!)

Well that would be good if you got the other job, maybe that would be a little more secure... I will keep my fingers crossed for you and keep you in my prayers... Keep me posted.

Trip went well, once I get some stability, we are buying DVC. We have money set aside for a downpayment for a house and 4500 for DVC. Unfortunately, until I know I got the other job or have some for sure stability at my current work, I can't buy DVC

I want to incorporate Wishes at our wedding reception since it meant so much to me. Do you guys have any ideas?

Thank you so much! Good luck to you too. Times are so hard right now. I thought there were a shortage of Nurses.

:cool1: Congratulations on your new job offer, I'm so happy for you. My own situation has once again changed. We weren't able to get our workers this year so my hours at work have been greatlly reduced & I'm looking for another job sooner than I had planned. I was offered a job in Mississippi but I don't want to move away from my family so for the first time in 11 years, I have to look for work.:sad2:

This economy, I tell you what. I'm so sorry. The only plus about job hunting is being able to sell yourself. Where else is it comletely okay to talk about how fantastic you are? :goodvibes
